Rays of the sun crept through the curtains, and shone into the eyes of its victims. Hermione groaned and blearily rubbed her eyes, squinting to adjust to the light. The clock read 7 o' clock a.m.
"Draco it's time to wake up." Hermione turned to look at him beside her. Just as he said he wouldn't let go, he was still holding onto her hand.
"Hmm? What time is it?" Draco peeked an eye open to look at her.
"Seven." Hermione sat up in bed and stretched, letting out a big yawn.
"You look great in those." Draco grinned and gestured to the robes she was wearing.
"Oh shush." Hermione blushed furiously, but as they both went around to get ready for the day she still didn't take it off.
Nobody would know. After all, he was only a few inches taller than her so the extra length wouldn't be noticeable. She had decided to wear it over a maroon long sleeve and black leggings. Not that Draco ever needed to know, but she greatly enjoyed how his robes smelled like him...it had become comforting to her.
"You ready?" Draco emerged into her room still trying to fix his hair.
"Yeah." Hermione laughed and gently lowered his hands down to his side. She used her fingers to sweep his hair to the side as it usually was done, and stepped back to admire her handiwork.
"Nice robes." He said casually as they walked over to the eating area in their dorm.
Hermione still wasn't comfortable with eating around all the other students yet.
"Yeah. They're new." Hermione replied coolly, confident he wouldn't be able to prove otherwise.
"So that's why they say Slytherin on them right? And are exactly my size? And I coincidentally gave you mine last night?" Draco raised an eyebrow. Hermione looked down and indeed, it had the Slytherin crest in all of its...serpenty greenness.
"So maybe they are yours." Hermione said indignantly. "What does it matter."
"It doesn't. There's nothing wrong with it." Draco shook his head and tried to hide the smile growing on his face as the two sat down at the table.
"What are we doing today?" Hermione asked, while choosing what she wanted from the menu the elves had put out.
"I'm not sure. We'll have to go ask Humfrey after we eat. He will probably be in his office after breakfast." Draco shrugged. "I suppose he'll want to debrief about yesterday."
"I see..." Hermione trailed off in thought. "If you want to eat in the Great Hall with everyone else you can. Don't let me stop you from that, I can eat on my own."
"Hey. Number one, this way I can spend more time with you. And number two, I don't have to walk all the way to the Great Hall to eat." Draco pointed out.
"Yes. The Great Hall that is about a minute walk from here?"
"Let's think about this logically. There are three meals in a day, and I would have to travel both there and back. Meaning that would consume six minutes a day. There are seven days a week, and if we are at school for about nine months-"
"Alright alright I get it." Hermione interrupted, and began to eat the food that appeared on the table.
"How'd you sleep?" Draco asked, cheerfully changing the subject.
"Good."
"That's good." Draco nodded.
They made light conversation until they had both finished their meals.
