Mia's POV

The plane ride was mostly Damon sleeping, and he looks so peaceful when he does. But coming to Chicago makes me feel unbalanced from all of the traumatic experiences i have went through here...it isn't very peaceful for my mind.

I want to be here for Damon, not because I want to prove him so, but because i just genuinely want to be here for him. Being around him makes me feel better, like I'm more complete as a person.

As Damon pays the Uber driver while I get out, I scan the city and spot a glass building. It's so tall, I wonder how small we'd look from up there. But I also wonder why were at this building?

Damon gets out and takes my hand by grabbing it in his. He leads me to the building and push through the glass doors. As we walk into the elevator, I stare at Damon who looks uneasy as he looks straight at the elevator doors.

"What is this place?" I ask Damon.

"Charles, it's his building...he knew Chaz." Damon blankly zones out.

I hope he's nothing like Chaz.

When the elevator door opens, two women in short tight pencil skirts and low buns stare at Damon. They literally look like twins. They both whisper and giggle which gets me uncomfortable, making me grab his hand in mine. When they notice me holding his hand, one of them rolls her eyes at me and turns. Snobby bitch. I start to glare.

Damon lets go of my hand and sneaks his arm
around my waist by pulling me closer, noticing my death stares toward the two girls who keep
turning back to check out Damon.

Damon's expression is uninterested as his lips are formed into a straight line and his eyes not even looking their direction. I suddenly feel his eyes on me...he kisses the side of my cheek just when the girl turns around to spot him in time. I blush like crazy, that my cheeks turn red. The two girls leave not even turning back to stare at Damon anymore.

I don't understand some females. When they know someone is in a relationship, why do they interfere? A couple has two people in a relationship, there isn't such thing as a triple, unless you're trying to get in between a relationship which just makes you look bad. It isn't any different for men either.

When we're at the top of the tall building, Damon opens the door without thinking twice which grabs the lady who is sitting in a desk turn to Damon in shock.

She get up and stares at Damon's tattoos and rethinks when she sits back down, quickly pressing buttons on the phone.

A man is seated in his desk with a business suit and dress shoes. He looks formal and clean, nothing like I imagined...Charles would look like. Maybe I judged him by who he befriended with.

"Ahhh," he opens his arm as he gets up off his chair, coming towards us. "Damon, Damon...thought you weren't going to show up." He says by patting his shoulder.

He freezes and turns on his heel to face me, "You must be the special girl..." he points at me, "Yeah, I've seen a picture of you in Damon's phone as I caught him wanking off to it in the bathroom once."

Damon turns to look at Charles with a flushed face.

"Just a joke," Charles winks and laughs; he has a very deep raspy laugh.

I want to laugh a little, only because of Damons reaction but Charles seems very laid back to be working in a business building.

"I'm Charles, and you must be Mia am I right?" He shakes my hand.

I smile and nod, "yes."

He smiles back. "So Mia! What do you think about my building, huh?" He pours whine in three glasses.
