Oh goodie, time for the potions exam. I did wonderfully on the written exam, but wished that Severus was there for a bit of support when I got stuck on a Polyjuice question. I was almost positive that I had the right answer, but I just wasn't sure. After the written exam, I absolutely aced my practical one while making the Draught of Peace.
We moved onto the Care of Magical Creatures exam and well...I wasn't too bad if I do say so myself. Hey, maybe I can be a journalist for magical creatures after I graduate. I'm sure father will probably ruin that plan though...oh how I would love to study creatures, ranging from unicorns to grindylows. However, father would never permit that, I'd be stuck in Malfoy Manor murdering things.
The exam we had the next day was Divination, and I can tell you right now that I failed that completely. Divination is not worth my time. Of course we had to wait until that night for our practical Astronomy examination, and as I was filling out my chart, placing Venus in its correct spot, I saw a commotion going on down on the grounds. Curses were flying, people were shouting, and Hagrid was running. Why do they want poor Hagrid? McGonagall walked out to assist him, but she received four stunning curses right to the chest. I screamed and almost flipped my telescope, but luckily even Granger, Parvati, and Lavender screamed as well. Hagrid was swinging at people and everyone was screaming in panicked voices.
"Get him!" I heard Umbridge yelling shrilly, but the stuns seemed to bounce right off him. No one wanted to go after him though, and he ran off into the darkness.
"Ahem- uh five minutes everyone," Tofty said shakily and we all snapped back to work.
"That was horrid!" I said, walking out with Draco and Pansy. The others were off somewhere else doing god knows what.
"Hagrid was a horrid teacher, yes," Draco nodded and I smacked him.
"How could they do that? They had no reason to attack him! Oh, and poor McGonagall!" I said and Pansy gave me a look.
"What's gotten into you?" she asked.
"Hagrid wasn't a very good teacher, but he didn't need to be attacked as such. Besides, McGonagall helped me retake my O.W.L., I have respect for her," I said.
"Wow, who knew she'd say that one day," Draco smirked, but I just bit my lip.
"Whoa, seriously are you alright? You're acting like a Gryffindor," Draco said.
"I know, sorry," I sighed.
"I agree with you Leah, it was terrible how they treated Hagrid," Granger said, walking up.
"I mean how could you be so vile? All they had to do was tell him he was sacked. They really didn't have to attack him," I said.
"Why do you care?" Pansy asked.
"Oh I don't know!" I said in frustration. Pansy and Draco shared a look, but Granger put a hand on my shoulder.
"It's okay, I care too," she said and then walked away.
"You need sleep," Draco chuckled and I nodded.
"You are completely right. I am getting way too soft," I said distastefully.
"It's weird," Pansy nodded.
"Ugh...I really cannot believe I cared that much," I wrinkled my nose.
"Now she's back to normal," Draco laughed and I did too.
"Yeah, it feels good," I nodded. It's true, I did like being a cold hearted bitch... I can't believe I've been questioning that. God, I really do need rest. Once I kick some ass in the Ministry, whenever that may be, I'll be back to normal.
