Chapter 24

Luke's point-of-view
"I don't know what to do?" I asked Ashton, while him and Michael were playing Fifa, too engrossed to care about what I was saying

"about what?" he didn't even turn around to speak but I answered anyway

"about Lexie" I paused "I really like her and I've gone and messed it up like I usually do, Calum was right I should just leave her alone, it's what's best I'm not good for her" they paused the game and both turned around to look at me "what are you looking at?" why are they staring at me like that?

"dude, you need to go tell this chick, what's her name, Lexie? How you feel otherwise, well Calum will be right and that's not allowed" we all have a slight chuckle and then stopped because realisation hit me,

"are you still seeing Marley?" I looked at Michael and he nodded

"yeah why?"

"ask her if she knows where Lexie is, so I can go find her" he gets his phone out and calls her, I can hear the conversation, they're at Lexie's house, I get up to go and Ashton stops me

"you sure about this? From what Calum's told me, she's different Luke, not like the usual girls you mess around with she's all about dates and romance and last time I checked you're not, if you're just gonna mess with her and break her heart, I'll" he stopped mid sentence and I want to know what he was going to say

"you'll what Ashton?" he shakes his head and turns away "I can't believe you Ashton, you actually believe what Calum has told you? He talks complete bullshit and you know it, and it's different with Lexie, I don't want to mess around with her and break her heart, I want the dates and the romance too, she makes me want to be a normal guy for once, not the guy who just messes around with people and I think Lexie is my shot at this, my shot to be normal and happy and I'm not going to let fucking Calum stand in the way and mess it up for me" ashton just glares at me and I walk away, then I hear him shouting

"Luke" I turn around "don't worry about Calum, we'll sort him out, now go find Lexie before he does" I give Ashton a smile and run out the door and don't stop until I reach Lexie's front door.
A woman answers, who I can only assume to be her mother based on the similarities in their features. I give myself a minute before answering her,
"Hi, I'm Luke is Lexie here?" I ask in between gasps for breath,
"she's upstairs, would you like me to" but before she can finish I run past her and up the stairs, hoping to find her room and I do when I can her voice, I stand out outside and catch some of what she's saying,
"I chose him Marley, I actually said the words 'I choose Luke' and he never showed, what if it happens again?" then it went silent, I go to grab the door handle but stop when I don't know what to do when I open the door, but then it hits me and before I know it I've opened the door,

"I choose you too Lexie"
