Chapter 26

Me and Luke have been 'trying' for a couple of weeks now and not much has changed, he still doesn't text me as much and the only time we've really seen each other is at school and the odd time he's walked me home. I haven't seen him the last couple days, I've text him but no reply, I really hope it's not always going to be like this. I know Luke isn't exactly 'boyfriend material' but I thought he'd at least try, guess I was wrong, again.
I still haven't spoken to April and I don't think I'm going to, she's gave me a few dirty looks here and there on the corridors but it's not worth my time anymore. Marley said she tried speaking to her a few times but she just completely ignored her, I think it's got something to do with this new girl she's hanging out with but I won't judge.

Marley's on her way over, said that she wanted us to have a proper catch up since our last one got interrupted. I have so many questions for her which is unusual since she's the one who normally asks me all the questions. She is late though, she said she'd be here at five and it's quarter to six now?

"Lexie, there's someone here for you" my mum shouts me, if it's Marley then she should have came straight up, I'll just wait "Lexie, there's someone at the door" it's not Marley?

"hang on, I'm coming" why hasn't she let them in? I run down the stairs and now I know why she hasn't let them in, it's Calum, "what do you want Calum?" I don't get too close to the door because I don't plan on him staying long

"I just needed to talk to you, urgently" he seems so sincere, he looks sad even, but I've seen it all before

"about what Calum? I don't have time for you to lecture me about how you think Luke is bad for me and all that crap you keep saying" he seriously thinks I'm going to fall for this again?

"yeah it's about Luke but it's not what you think?" he shifts awkwardly and I somehow know that something's wrong,

"Calum, what's wrong with Luke?" he stares straight ahead without saying anything "Calum! Tell me what's wrong with Luke!" he's really scaring me now

"he kind of got in an - erm he got in an accident" he stutters his sentence and I almost screamed at him to spit it out

"HE WHAT?!"

"Lex, calm down please"

"DONT TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!"

"Lexie, what's with all the shouting? Will you quieten down please?" she doesn't have a clue, I haven't even told her about Luke yet, I weren't going to until things got serious, what if it doesn't get to that?

"sorry Mrs Grey, we'll quieten down" my mother nods at Calum and he walks me outside, I can't even speak, " I don't how to say this but, er, Marley was with him" I look at him, is he seriously telling me that my boyfriend and best friend were in a car accident together?

"can you take me to the hospital?"

"I don't think that's the best idea Lex, it will be pretty bad and, "

"Calum take me to the damn hospital, now!" he reluctantly walks over to his car and we both get in. He starts to drive and I start to cry, my boyfriend and best friend were in a car accident and I had no clue, you always think if something like this happened you'd know, like you would have a gut feeling and you would know but I didn't.
