"What do you mean I can't go in?!" the woman at reception has done nothing but argue with me, she's been no help at
" what I mean you can't go in until visiting hours start, which is in two hours" what the hell?
"I'm not waiting two hours to see my boyfriend and best friend who have just been in a car accident! Now tell me where they are!" I try to be stern as I can but I don't think it's working, Calum is just stood there, doing absolutely nothing, I would rather he not be here
"I can't let you in, I'm sorry sweetheart but you're going to have to wait, just like everyone else" she points her head in the direction of the waiting room, suggesting that's where I go, but I won't.
"Lexie, maybe we should go wait, we don't - "
"No Calum, I'm going to see Luke and Marley whether she lets me or not, and you don't get to tell me what to do, okay?" he nods his head like a child, he seems frightened almost. He's not the only one
"Lexie sweetie, is that you?" Marley's mum is standing behind me, her eyes red and puffy, "is everything okay?" her voice is almost like a whisper, I can barely hear her
"no they won't let me in to see them" she looks at me confused, she might not know who I mean, does she know I'm with Luke?
"whose them?"
"Marley and Luke?" does she not know about the accident?
"there was another person in the accident? I - I didn't know, she didn't mention him" she didn't know about Luke? She walks over to the receptionist rather quickly and when she comes back she grabbed my arm "come on, I'll let you in"
We walked through the waiting room until we got to two small rooms that had emergency written on them, I'm guessing that's where they are.
"Marley's fine, they just want to keep her over night for observations but she should be fine but as for the boy, I'm not sure, I weren't aware he was in the accident" she pushed open the door to where Marley was lying, she didn't look as bad as I thought, I walked over and grabbed her hand,
"hey," she slowly opened her eyes and it was a relief to see them open
"hey" it was almost a whisper, but I heard it
"I know this shouldn't be the first thing on my mind right now, but you're okay and Luke" I started crying, realising how selfish I was being "I'm sorry, I just- "
"it's okay, he's next door but I don't know if he's okay, he looked pretty bad Lex" before I knew it I was running corridor to find Luke's room and I did, but I wish I didn't. They were trying to revive him, it was like something out of the films, I watched through the glass window as they struggled to bring him back to life. At this point I was crying uncontrollably, I wasn't even aware of Calum standing behind me until he let out a small cry. We stood there for a few minutes before a doctor came out, still unsure of whether he was alive or not,
"I'm sorry but you two can't be out here" we both looked at him and he seen us crying, "he's going to be okay, there going to be taking him up to a private room in a few minutes, you can go in till then" we both smile at him appreciatively, Calum says thank you,
"you should go in, he probably won't want to see me anyway and I think you need to see him more than I do" Calum opened the door for me and urged me to go in, but I was scared "go on, Lex you'll be fine, so will he"
I walked over to Luke and sat down on the chair beside the bed. I grabbed his hand like I did Marley's, but he didn't open his eyes. I started to mess with his hair, it got all messed up in the accident and I know he likes his hair a certain way, so I'm doing him a favour. After a few minutes I start to get in patient, he should've woken up by now, I put my head down on the bed, resting it on his arm.
"hey," my head shot before I could think and he was awake, he was alive and I never been as happy to see his piercing blue eyes as I am now.
