Abby
Doctor Martin takes me with him into a separate room. When he turns on the light, I get scared of what I see. The room is small, with a few tables against the walls and one table in the middle. The table has a few leather belts attached to it, what makes me scare even more. The tables against the walls are filled with tools, small glasses with some kind of liquid and other stuff.
Doctor Martin pulls me with him to the table in the middle of the room. When he wants to lift me up and put me on the table, I slab him in the face and run away from him. I run back to the door and try to get it open, but it won't bother. It's locked.
Within seconds doctor Martin is behind me again. He grabs my throat and pulls me back to the table. I try to get his hands off of me, but I can't, he is too strong. He lays me down on the table and before I can run, he ties me in with the leather belts. He ties my head, arms, body and legs so tight, that I can't move anymore.
With a proud smile, he turns around and walks over to one of the tables against the wall. "So, Abby Gilbert," he starts, "I am familiar with your family, did you know?" I sigh, "I don't know who you are, so no, I didn't know that." He turns around to me and smiles. "You are much like your dad," he says.
It feels like my heart stops beating. "My... My dad?" I ask. He nods, "yes. I worked with him. You are a lot like him. Except that you are the one thing your dad hated the most." I get confused, "and what is that?" He laughs, "a vampire, of course." "My dad knew they existed?" I ask. He laughs again, "he was studying them! Of course he knew."
My dad studied vampires? How? Why? When?!
"So, I guess he would be proud of me for doing this to you," he says. He turns back around to me with a knife in his hands. My body tells me to run, but I can't. "Listen, I am not a vampire," I tell him. "Stop pretending, Abby. I get that you are ashamed, but you don't have to lie to me. I know that you are a vampire. Your wound healed, that doesn't happen to humans," he says.
I sigh, "my wound healed, because Damon gave me some of his blood. I can't compel anyone and I am immune to Vervain." Doctor Martin narrows his eyes. "Immune to Vervain? So, that's why you have so much strength," he says. "No, I don't. I am not strong or fast like a vampire. I am human!" I try to explain, but I don't feel like he even wants to listen.
Then he starts to smile. "I get it. You are not a normal vampire, you are a new specie," he looks at me and his smile grows even more. "A specie nobody knows about... yet!" I get scared. He actually believes I am a vampire? Oh god...
"But what I am wondering..." he says. He puts the knife away and turns his back to me. "How will you react to this?" he asks. He brings a small glass, what looks like a glass for shots, to my face. The glass is filled with some red, thick, liquid. When I smell, I notice it's blood.
After a few seconds, doctor Martin removes the glass again and smiles. "You don't react to blood the same way... Interesting..." He grabs a piece of paper and a pen and starts to write things down.
"Oh Abby, you're gonna make me rich!" he says. He puts the paper and the pen away and grabs the knife again. He brings his knife closer to my body. "No wait! You don't understand! You can actually kill me," I tell him. He looks at me with a confused look in his eyes. "What are you talking about?" he asks. "My body is not as strong and self-healing like the of the vampires. I die the same way humans do," I tell him. If he won't believe the fact that I am human, maybe this is my way to safe myself.
He grins, "so you finally admit?" I sigh, "you're gonna kill me if I don't, so yes, I admit." He smiles wide, "fine. But how will I know if you tell me the truth? I mean, the wound on your head healed as well." "Because I drank from Damon!" I tell him, but he starts to laugh. "I don't believe that story. I bet your body heals, you just won't admit it," he says.
I try to think about what to say, but I don't have a clue. He won't believe a word that leaves my mouth...
He puts his knife aside and his hands go to my shirt. He lifts it up, while I try to move away from him. But I can't do anything about it... He reveals my belly and smiles wide. "I guess we will find out, won't we?" he asks. He grabs his knife again and walks back to me.
I start to panic. "No, please! You'll kill me!" I shout. "Oh please, we both know I won't!" he says. He puts the knife on my belly and cuts it open. I scream out of pain as he makes a huge cut. I feel a lot of blood drip out of it.
The pain takes over me. My whole body weakens and I feel that I start to shake.
Doctor Martin walks away and comes back with a test tube made of glass. He catches some of my blood with it and smiles wide. "Well, this is what I need!" he says. He puts the test tube away and comes back with new ones. He fills every one of them with all of my blood that drips out of my belly.
I feel like I get light headed. This is really gonna kill me!
"Martin, you are killing me!" I tell him, but he just smiles. Even though I can tell he doesn't believe me, he unties me. I want to run, but I am too weak. So doctor Martin grabs my arm and takes me out of the room.
We get back into the room with the cells and I see Damon standing up quickly as soon as he sees us. "Abby!" he shouts, "are you okay?" I want to tell him I do, but I don't. Doctor Martin opens the door and pushes me back into my cell. I immediately fall on the ground and moan out of pain. More and more blood is leaving my body, just like my strength.
Doctor Martin closes the door again and locks it. "What did you do to her?!" Damon asks. Doctor Martin just smiles. "Don't be curious, I will get to you later," he says. He walks out of the room and closes the door behind him.
Damon kneels down as close to me as he possibly can and reaches out to me. I can hear how scared he is. "What did he do, Abby?" he asks. I try to catch my breath to answer him. "He... He..." I start. I take a moment to breathe in normally. "He cut my belly open to see if I would heal," I tell him with all the strength I have left.
"You are losing a lot of blood, Ab..." he says. I put my hands on my belly, but it doesn't help. "It hurts like hell," I tell him. I feel my head starts to spin. Is this what dying feels like?
"Take some of my blood!" Damon says, but I shake my head. "I can't. He will think I healed again and he will do way worse to me next time," I tell him. "Abby, if you won't take it, there will be no next time..." he says. I try to look at him and see a worried look in his eyes.
"Please, Abby. I can't loose you..." he says. Before I'll actually see tears in his eyes, I nod. I put my hands on the ground and try to move, but I can't and fall down again. Damon reaches out to me again, but he can't get to me. "Reach out to me, baby," he says.
With what feels like the last strength I have left, I reach out to him and my hand touches his. He immediately grabs it and pulls me closer to him. When I am close to him, he bites his arm open, so his blood will drip out. He brings his arm to my mouth. "Drink it, baby," he says. I grab his arm and press my lips against it for the second time today.
When everything starts to spin, I suck as much blood as I can out of Damon's arm. After a few sips, my body gives up and my head falls on the ground. My whole body relaxes and my eyes close. I feel Damon's hands on my body as he tries to pull me even closer to him.
"Stay with me, Abby," I hear Damon say. His hand touches my arm and with everything that I have left, I try to touch his hand with my hand. Damon grabs my hand, like he noticed what I was trying to do and rubs with his thumb over my hand. "You're gonna be okay," he says. "I can't keep doing this, Damon," I tell him, "I won't be able to..." "I know, baby. I will get us out of here," he says, "I promise."
