I lay in bed with Stefan's arms around me. It is around midnight, but I can't sleep. It has been over a month since Abby and Damon ran away. Since that day, they never contacted us. Not ever. Not one call, not one text that they're fine, nothing! It's driving me nuts.

It already drove me nuts that they ran away in the first place, but now I have no idea where they are or what is going on! What if Damon turned to be a real jerk to her and she is sick of him? But what if he hurt her? Or she is scared and afraid to come home?

"Are you okay?" Stefan asks me. He lays next to me in only his boxers. He hugs me a little bit tighter and puts his head against mine. "I am just thinking..." I sigh. "About Abby again?" he asks. I sigh and nod. "I just can't handle it..." "I understand. It's a big deal for a sixteen year old to run away with somebody and not contact their family," he says.

"Plus, she ran away with Damon, of all people," I add. Stefan smiles, "right." I sit up and grab my phone. I check if one of them has send me something yet, but still nothing... "Why are they like this? Even when Abby was at our grandparents' she texted every day and we called at least once a week..." I sigh. I really start to freak out!

Stefan sits up as well and hugs me again. "She will be fine. She is just in love and can't think about anything else right now," he says. I turn around to him and look him in the eye. "Yeah, I get it, but after a month?" I ask him. Stefan lifts his shoulders, "I don't know. I honestly thought they would be home by now."

I laugh, "I thought they would be home within a week!" Stefan laughs with me. But after a few beats, it hits me. We all thought they would be home within a week, maybe two. But after five weeks, they are still not here. Not only that, but they are also not contacting us... That is strange, right? Or am I getting paranoid?

Stefan notices the switch in my mood and turns serious again. "If you don't trust it, we can always ask Bonnie to locate them," he says. I laugh, "and then? Go find them like crazy stalkers? You know what Abby said, if we try to find her, she will be so angry and will not come back home. I can not take her living with Damon already, okay!" Stefan laughs and puts his hands on my shoulders. "I get it, but maybe we can just take a look where they are," he says.

"Then what? We will not know if she is happy or hurt or scared. We just know where they are. Then I will want to go find them and that is just wrong," I tell him. Stefan nods, "you're right. Let's just distract ourselves then, shall we?" He starts to touch my skin. I want to give in and let him distract me, but I am just not in the mood.

So I shake my head and put my hands on my face. "I'm sorry, I can't right now," I tell him. Stefan nods, "I get it. Let's just try to sleep then, okay?" I remove my hands and nod, "okay."

...

The next day I sit on the sofa in my house. Stefan sits next to me with his arm around me. Together with Alaric and Jenna we watch a movie. Honestly, I can't pay any attention to it. With every day that passes, I start to worry more and more about Abby. We never fight as much as we did the last day she was at home, why did she leave during a fight like that?

When we are like halfway through the movie - I think, I actually have no clue - the door slams open. We all scare when Jeremy runs inside in full panic.

"Guys! Guys! Guys!" He shouts. He tries to catch his breath, what makes me think he ran home. He had to work at the grill, but I thought he took the car... Did he run all the way home?

"Jer, calm down," Alaric says. He stands up and walks towards him to calm him down. But Jeremy won't let him. He catches his breath and looks at us. I have never seen him more panicked.
