After the awkward Mandarin moment our family came home and we all got ready for bed.I heard through the grape vine that there was going to be a beach party tomorrow so I went to Derek and he heard already. "We are going! Everyone is in town" I was so excited but he looked like someone killed his hamster "yeah it will be fun Case,I gotta go to the bathroom" I was a little confused but maybe it was nothing.

I told George and my mom and they said to have fun and I scurried to bed,reading week was a whorl wind and we still had a few days left. When morning finally came I got up and got ready,I had preplanned my outfit the night before and already prepared my hair,I was gonna do a messy bun. I heard Lizzie knocking on the bathroom door and I told her I was sorry but just to hold it for five minutes "but Casey I read that if you hold it in it can cause bladder infections!" She sounded desperate so I let her go and I waited outside. The party wasn't until late afternoon which is two p.m. Derek looked confused "hey is something the matter?" I asked him while we watched tv.

"Nothing Case,leave it alone" he cut me off and here I was concerned "fine I will!" I stormed off.God we are adults why are we still bickering like kids.But time ticked by and soon enough it was time to drive down for the beach party. Everyone was there and the music was loud with food cooking and former classmates and friends playing volleyball.

Derek vanished somewhere with Sam and Ralph but we can't be public so I should get used to moments like this. "Oh ow sorry" I turned and looked at the man I bumped into and it was TRUMAN FRENCH! "Haha it's alright Casey feels like a hello coming from you" that's when Derek appeared "yeah haha that's my klutzilla hey Truman mind snapping a pic for my insta of me and Case". Was Derek jealous? It's kind of cute "yeah sure I'm glad you two are getting along you look like actual siblings". The happy moment captured with me smiling and Derek in a ridiculous hat and headphones soon turned awkward "y-yeah haha" I laughed "hey wanna dance Casey" I looked over to Derek who gave an indifferent shrug so "sure I'd love to" and Truman pulled me to the small dancing area of the beach party. I could feel Dereks eyes on us and I felt bad but happy that he knows how this feels. But I caught a glimpse of a very drunk Kendra approaching and saw them coming to dance. 

I was disgusted by what I was seeing as Kendra basically was having sex with Derek,it was dry humping.I had no right to be mad but I was as the humping turned to grinding but as I saw Kendra put Dereks chin on her shoulder and leaned up to kiss him I tried to move away.My feet didn't listen and like the klutz I was I fell between Derek and Kendra "you okay Casey!" Kendra looked at me "yeah sorry" Derek saw my face "I'll take her for a walk and we will be back" everyone agreed and I was more than happy with this arrangement.

"Thanks for the assist Casey" as we were out of ear shot I let my contempt out "why dance with Kendra!?" Derek smirked "Truman" we both knew there was a simple reason because we knew we couldn't dance with one another. We arrived at a deserted part of the boardwalk and Derek took out his phone and played a song.Setting his phone down on the picnic table next to us he leaned in and "care to dance" I smiled so wide,we could dance intimately not goofy or cute like step siblings,here in this moment we could dance like lovers.

Each song choice ranged from romantic to sexy.I grinded and felt a bulge in Dereks pants "sorry,let's change songs" I smiled "I'm happy I have that effect on you" he scoffed "yep boners are fun" we both laughed and with one more song and one last dance for the evening we returned to the party "I feel much less lightheaded" Truman looked relieved but I hadn't spoke to Emily the whole night and the way she eyed me and Derek I felt a chill like she was cluing into something.Was she onto us.
