I got into Dereks car and we drove down home and to the beach,things felt blurry and I always felt unsteady around Derek.The world would go black and it would be just him and I. What was going on.

"Can you hold my hand?".

"Okay".

He was guiding me somewhere and I remember these benches,us dancing here and where those rocks were we had had public sex.God we were lucky we didn't get an infection. How many stupid things had I done with Derek. But once we reached the shore line and on the sand I read the words I never ever expected to read since our break up. Derek got down on one knee,is he insane people know us here and someone could snap a picture.

"Will you marry me?".

"I...Derek what's going on".

"I love you and I want to you to be my wife".

"We broke up and what about our parents?".

"We will tell them,I love you and I am willing to risk it all".

"Derek...I-".

The water had erased the words in the sand I am happy to finally know where he stands but this is a huge jump.

"Let me know by graduation....please think it over".

"I will....thank you"

As he slid the ring on my first finger after my thumb on my left hand I know it's not my ring finger but he's giving me time to think it over. I smiled at him and we kissed with the sunset behind him in this moment of a beautiful blur of emotions.

"So if I say yes....you and I tell everyone?".

"Well we'd come home and sit them down,but yeah".

"This is crazy!".

"I know but I know only one thing in all this and that's how I feel".

"I promise to have an answer by graduation".

We got into Dereks car and drove out of our home town and he told me Emily had figured it out and had come up with a shipping name for us.

"Haha I like Dasey"

"That's what I told her it's cute".

I told him about Cody helping me and the mistake that led up to it and he said he knew but that he was happy it helped. We both had someone in our corner when we doubted our feelings for one another. Now it was my turn to be certain if this is something I wanted and was I willing to risk it all and risk our family.
