"Are you disappointed?".

"No!just it feels like your avoiding feeling anything else and jumping into sex".

"I am....terrified Derek! What have we done! The way everyone looked at us".

"I know I was there....I'm scared to Casey".

Derek held me as I cried into his bare chest,he stayed there until I settled down but that look on his face was fear afterword we showered and put fresh clothes on,we weren't done getting critiques yet as our phones started ringing from other angry and confused,scared family members.

My dad Dennis called me and didn't know how to even start this conversation so he just asked me why.

"Dad listen it wasn't something I had planned,it happened....I-I'm trying my best to be happy".

"Casey your mother is crying and I know this because when she called me she couldn't get the words fully out so George took the phone and apologized".

"Dad".

"He explained that Derek and you are somehow engaged and had been lying to us all for months...MONTHS CASEY!".

I could hear Derek talking to his mom in the other room and that conversation was going about as well as mine was. I could hear that his mom Abby had called and was as angry as my dad was.

"Derek are you serious! You want to marry your step sister! You share a baby brother,it's wrong son".

"Mom I didn't plan for this but I love her".

"I remember when you were failing Spanish and I tried to help but you wouldn't come with me,take the out this time or you will regret it".

"Mom I'm not a kid anymore and I tried fighting this feeling I've been fighting it since high school".

"Wait are you telling me you've had these inappropriate feelings for Casey since high school!?".

"I tried repressing them but it came out as petty fights and pranks,I wanted to love her like a step sibling should,like family should".

"You share blood now....Derek what about your siblings!".

The phone disconnected and I knew my mom was crying but I could hear things getting heated in the living room with Casey and her dad.

"Dad...please try to understand".

"I don't Casey! How could I,he's your step brother for Christ's sake!".

Casey started to whimper and the tears were pooling from her eyes,so I grabbed the phone.

"Hey Dennis,it's Derek".

"Listen Derek you need to be the smart one here because Casey is going off of some fairytale where this will end happily but you and I know it will get worse".

"No actually I don't and you shouldn't be beating her down emotionally like this".

"I'm trying to protect her,she's my daughter".

"And she's my fiancée!".

"You little shit".

I hung up after that I could tell it wasn't going anywhere with Dennis or my mom Abby. Hell I am surprised that Ed,Lizard or Smarti haven't made their statements but then again the looks they gave us when we left spoke volumes. I held onto Casey and tried to be strong but we both cried that night.
