Dasey (Derek and Casey) Life With Derek

Dinner.

Casey hadn't been herself since the attack we both received. The fact that she used sex to forget or as a coping mechanism made me wonder how long had she been hurting? Was I the cause. Was it us I knew that things were ruined and I felt it hell I heard it in my mom Abbys voice....and Casey's dad Dennis sounded like he could kill me through the phone.

I still couldn't erase the faces of Ed,Lizzy,Smarti and Nora and my dad. Our love hurt everyone and at times it hurt us. I truly knew the finish line would be bad but I didn't except it to be a never ending tornado. But maybe I had deluded myself into hoping it would of been a calm storm. Casey got hired as a dance teacher at a great dance studio while she auditions for dance company's and I start at a great law firm that my dads friend works at.

We may still have to hide and I am hoping no one knows yet. Because for the first time since our cellphones stopped ringing and the dust settled. We were both now alone with one another. Unable to form sentences.

"Should we break up?".

"Casey....what?!".

"Look at what we've done Derek! Look at the horror we caused!".

Casey said all this through a tear stained face. I tried to stay calm but this was selfish and I couldn't hold that back.

"You realize that even if we did THAT NO ONE WOULD LOOK AT US THE SAME WAY! THAT WE WOULD BE WATCHED EVERY MOMENT AT EVERY FAMILY GATHERING AND STILL TALKED ABOUT AS A CAUTIONARY REMINDER!".

"WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME!".

"BECAUSE I WISH YOU WOULD THINK ABOUT HOW I FEEL CASEY.....because I'm afraid and I love you".

I started to ball my eyes out as the weight of losing everyone hit me and Casey held me,I cried into her sweater and she just hugged me like she was my shield. Then when I finished I looked into those blue eyes and she wiped my tears and kissed me. In the middle of our moment Casey's cellphone buzzed and she looked surprised.

"It's Emily!".

"Haha pick it up".

"Em!hey I have missed you so much....yeah...let me ask".

"She's inviting us out to diner with her boyfriend....wanna go".

"Heck yeah".

"We will meet you in ten ok?...great.Love you Em".

"Let's get ready!".

Casey smiled as she got ready and I dressed in a jacket with a vest and Casey had a nice coat with a white button up shirt and black pants, I wore jeans.The place Emily had invited us to is the Harry Potter themed bar called 'The Lockhart' and Casey was so excited but so was I after all who didn't watch those movies growing up.

We got there and Emily and her boyfriend were sitting at a booth and waved us over,it was a nice cocktail bar. We strolled up and I was happy for Emily,when we dated she finally was able to form sentences around me because her crush on me had made it impossible before.

"Hey love birds this is Malachi,Malachi this is Derek and Casey".

"Hi,nice to finally meet you Casey,Emily's told me all about you and likewise Derek".

"Hopefully nothing to terrible".

"Haha no only good things".

We all sat down and I talked with Emily's boyfriend,he had brown hair and hazel eyes like me. But maybe that's a coincidence,I have to let my ego go. Casey looked so happy to be with Emily again and Emily never took her focus off Casey,it was sweet.

"So how did you meet Emily?".

"Oh well we ran into one another and accidentally picked up each others books and found one another later to exchange them. Things just took off from there."

"That's one heck of a first meeting".

"How about you and Casey?".

"I've known her since high school but we got together at a frat party my brothers hosted,been like that ever since".

"That's nice you finally got the girl!".

"More like we got each other but it feels great,I love her".

"Nicely done man".

"Likewise".

We all got our drinks and Emily teases us and with Casey's phone took a picture of us. We took a picture of her and Malachi and said we will hang out again soon. Casey smiled at me and I felt relieved and so did she. We made it home and laughed about the night and got ready for bed and spooned as we fell asleep.
