It's been a week since Veronica and I got together. I'm not kidding, I actually have a relationship... like a human one. I got into it a little bit nervous, since there is that tiny little secret between us, that Jude actually owns my soul, and he is a demon, but usually that just doesn't come up.

I cautiously glanced towards table 2... or shall I say the danger zone? Jude and Veronica were... still glaring at each other, without saying a damn word. What's up with those two really? I mean, first of all, both of them insisted to come with me to work, but now this... Both of them are quite good at small-talk, so I didn't understand what was this dead silence.

I grabbed the black coffee and the hot chocolate and gently placed them on the tray, before delivering them to their rightful owners.

"All good here?" I asked raising one of my eyebrows, and I glanced first at Veronica then Jude.

"Jolly. Yeah" Jude replied as if he was ready to kill someone. Ver shot me an apologetic look, even though this really wasn't her fault. Jude had a way of randomly selecting people he disliked, and he would despise them with all of his might... which was a lot.

"The coffee" I gave the cup to the demon, then the hot chocolate to the girl, and I stood there for a few more seconds, hoping one of them will say something.

"I thought you are on a diet" Jude glanced up at Veronica, who blushed with embarrassment and shook her head.

"I'm... I'm not. Should I be?" she asked a little concerned, touching her sides self-consciously. The demon shrugged, and looked back up at the girl, eyeing her up and down.

"Not my decision... don't know I thought you were... I guess I just assumed"

"Don't be a dick" I scolded him, before gently giving a pat to her shoulder as like a "hold on" and I left to complete the rest of the orders. Something was definitely up with that demon and I just couldn't quite guess what it was.

Suzanne and I had a pretty tight shift, there were a lot of people here today, and so I tried to put my mind to work.

"Okay, answer me this... Which of them are you actually dating..." Suzanne leaned in to whisper to me, while I was preparing the small cakes we sold.

"Obviously, the girl." the next person to assume I am gay, I'll just shoot in the head... How much straighter can I get? I have a beautiful girlfriend and... and we are a couple. We kiss and stuff.

I'm not even convincing myself anymore...

"Calm down, Romeo, I didn't mean to offend you... You guys just seemed to be close, so I wasn't sure.

"I'm. Not. Interested. In. Guys" I hoped this is the last time I have to clarify this, but she just kept on giggling.

"So the guy's up for grabs?" she grinned and I just chuckled a little. Jude was way too fixated on me to even look another human being, let alone to get together with them. He was disinterested in most "mortals" as he would say.

"Yeah, but he is an ass, so good luck" with that I turned to her and handed both the small plates I prepared with the carrot-cake on them and gave her an encouraging smile. Maybe I was evil, but I found it funny whenever people tried to hit on Jude and he would just act like he is oblivious to it. Maybe it was flattering my ego a little bit, that I was the only one who could make him interested.

I went along with my work, and after my shift was finally over, and headed straight to the dressing room, to get my normal shirt on and leave. I had enough of customers for today, and I'll have to study a lot tomorrow, not to mention that I have to give in various projects which I have neglected until last minute.
