Sorry I haven't wrote about my day. Been busy with homework and life. I wrote about Monday which was January 27th. On Tuesday I just had one class. My Child development class and the professor started lecturing about chapter 1 which talks about the science in development. My child development class reminds me of my child growth class back at Salem State but that one was listed as a psychology class. Child development is listed as an education class. I do like science and find it interesting. Then I went to my disabilities services appointment. I thought I had an appointment because I made one using Blackboard on the Q but it turns out that is now how I can make an appointment with them. I hope my appointment with Career Service isn't like that either. They gave me a paper to fill out and then I made an appointment for Thursday at 3:00. The woman also gave me a paper of things I need for my appointment including my IEP. When I came home and my mom got home and gave it to her. She said that she won't be able to get what I need by Thursday and also my IEP is old so she doesn't think that would be okay. I graduated from high school in 2015 and I had sent my IEP to Salem State so I wouldn't have to send them my SAT scores.
On Wednesday I got to campus early. I went to the food pantry and I gotten some food. Most of them are completely vegan. I'm excited to try the non-dairy brownies when my dad makes them with the mix. I can't wait to try the non-dairy stuffing (Still contains eggs) and I can't wait for my dad to use the egg replacer when he is making pancakes Sunday. I also told them to use almond milk so our pancakes will be 100% vegan. This makes me excited. I had also gotten garlic which everyone who knows me know I love garlic. Then I went to my classes. I had Family issues and dynamics. We talked about different kinds of families. Then was my Introduction to Early Childhood Education class. The professor will bring a binder next week so we can sign up for observations for the children's center on campus. I'm excited to do that. We have to do 2 observations. We have to observe the children's play and observe their guidance. After my classes I decided to go straight home instead of going to Kiva for guitar 101 since I had food with me. I got home and put everything away and worked on my family context paper and did some reading in my textbooks. Then my mom came home and we watched stuff on the DVR until my dad got up and we went to Walmart for grocery shopping. We also bought some dividers for my binder for one of my classes and I also gotten a poster board for my Child development presentation on my first 12 years of development.
Then I went to campus early Thursday for the club fair. It's different then the club fair at Salem State. It's in a small room with less clubs then the one at Salem State. At Salem State their club fair would be outside on the quad on North Campus. This club fair is also going on, on both Thursday and Friday while Salem State's club fair would only be on one day on a Monday. They also had popcorn and popcorn seasonings so I had some before going around to the different clubs that was there. The first club got me excited because it was "The open door" which is the school newspaper. I told the woman that I was on the school newspaper in high school and I tried to be on the school newspaper when I was at Salem State. At Salem State it was unorganized and they were trying to have the paper online. It later disappeared. I know Noah was trying to bring it back. I hope I get to be a part of the school newspaper here. I also gotten excited about Theater club. Their meetings are on Thursdays from 4:00-5:30. I hope that this will give me the chance to be in plays again since high school. I couldn't be in any plays at Salem State because I came to realized that they are only for theater majors. This is exciting because I feel like I am back at Worcester Tech. I saw the table for Disability awareness and advocacy club. I already been to the first meeting so I didn't have to stop at that table. Then there was a table for SGA. I was a senator in the Salem State's SGA for my last 2 years. I found out with this SGA anyone can be apart of it and after coming for 2 times we can actually vote. That made it better then the one I did at Salem State. They meet on Thursdays from 2:00-3:00 which is also better because at Salem State it would be long boring meetings from 4:30-6:00 or depending on how much we had to talk about it would be until 6:30 or 7:00. By the 6:30 mark if it is still going I would get cranky because I would be hungry and wanting the meeting to end. I'm glad that this Student government is only an hour long. That will also make more time for other things I might have going on like the theater club that same day. Also right next to SGA was this other club "S.H.E". S.H.E stand for Support, Help, and Encourage. It is a club envisioned to support, help, and encourage women in their academic, personal, and professional endeavors at Quinsigamond Community College. Providing participants with connections and opportunities to network within the QCC family communities. We strive to have fun and discuss relevant issues that pertain to women's well-being. They will also meet on Thursdays but they won't start until February 20th and they will meet at 3:00. So Thursdays for me will be busy with 2 or 3 clubs a afternoon. Then I also the QCC students pride club which they meet on Mondays from 2:30-3:30. There was also the writing club which will meet second and fourth week of each month but I don't know what day and time yet. They plan on publishing something at the end of the semester too. This is also exciting. Too bad Rachel doesn't go here. I know she would love to be in this club. I feel this writing club will also be better then the writing club we tried to be in at Salem State.
When I was done looking at the different club I sat outside of the room and read my textbook until it was time to get to class. I walked with the girl that was at the Student government table because she is in my class. We got to our child development class. Then after class we went to SGA which was in a small classroom below the basement. Another difference because at Salem State SGA would meet in the MLK room in Elison Campus Center. The MLK room is a big room. I love the room that this SGA meets in because it's so small and not overwhelming. I also really enjoyed the first meeting and wasn't bored at all. We had pizza at the end of the meeting and there was Hershey kisses on the table so I had a few of that too. I decided to not go to my disabilities services appointment and go to the cafeteria to read my textbook before I had to go to theater club. When I was at theater club we just watch Cats since not everyone could make it. I love the movie and tried to enjoy it but everyone kept talking about it and criticizing it. If you are going to put this movie in then why would you do that? It really bothered me because I do enjoy it and I just wanted to watch it. I don't care about any problems it may or may not have. I still really enjoy it and I love the cast and the singing. It didn't bother me at all. After that my mom picked me up so I didn't have to take the bus home. I had decided not to go to Safe Homes because of how much I will be with these clubs I am going to have on Thursdays. When I got home I started to brainstorm stuff I want to include on my presentation.
Then Friday I went to my classes. I had Family issues and dynamics and then Introduction to Early Childhood Education. I went to Disability Awareness and Advocacy club and talked about guest speakers we want to have that lives in Massachusetts. Then I took the bus back to the hub and walked to the Kiva. I did a little of the art group. I didn't do drum circle and then was Karaoke and pizza.
