I got to campus for 10:00 because I thought there would be free hot chocolate at the Fuller Student center. It was a nice day today so I didn't need it anyways but was disappointed when there was no one there for the free hot chocolate. I was there for an hour talking to a group of people. Then I went to my Family Dynamics class and passed in my professional interview paper. I hope it will be okay that I interviewed Laura from Safe Homes even though the age group is from 14-23. I choose to interview her because she also does PFLAG which is a support group for parents and families of Lesbians and Gays. I didn't know who else I could have interview and I didn't feel like looking at other agency and calling them. It was easier for me to interview Laura since I have been a part of Safe Homes since high school and been going to the PFLAG meetings myself since I was 18. Our next assignment is going to be a book report of a children's book. She gave us a list of books to choose from but the book I really wanted to do is "I am Jaz" by Jazz Jennings because it is about gender identity and I feel it's important to educate young children about gender identity if they might be going through their own or know someone else that are. I'll have to look at the books from the list as well as look for my I am Jazz book and asked the professor if I could still use it even though it's not on the list.
At Intro to Early Childhood Education we took notes. Then I stayed in the cafeteria for lunch until it was time to go to Pride club. Pride club was good and I am looking forward for it. I decided not to run for any positions. I just wants to be a member of the club during my first semester. I also wouldn't want to be in a position and then find out I got into graduate school at Salem State.
