"I hate him. I actually hate him." Resonant growled as he collapsed onto the couch of their hideout. He winced as he pulled his white mask off and frowned. "I seriously don't like him."
"That went from hate to don't like, Roman. You confuse me more than Confusious." Roman glared as he started took his red gloves off. Polarity sighed as he shook his head seeing the pain his friend was in. "I am sorry, Roman. For being as smart as I am I should have seen that coming."
"It's fine, Logan." Roman winced as he pulled his white leather jacket off. "None of us were expecting Raven to show up."
"Why did he show up?" Angel bit his lip as he walked over to help Roman who was struggling. "Manic said he was robbing the bank without Confusious. And by the shocked expression... It seemed he didn't even know Raven was there."
"I seriously do not like Raven. That guy creeps me out." Roman frowned as he watched his kind-hearted friend put his stuff away. "Plus... after that whole thing with my family..."
"I can understand your dislike but right now our focus must be on Manic. He robbed a bank..." Roman nodded as Logan sat down beside him with this sad look in his eyes.
"What kind of a villain..." Roman's eyes shot wide as he growled in anger. "Oh shit!"
"What?" Logan jumped slightly as Roman threw his head back and laughed brokenly. "Roman, what is it?"
"Today's the 16th." Logan nodded before his eyes started going wide. "I was supposed to pay the fucking rent and shit today. I told Ray I would. Fuck..."
"Roman, I know you're upset but Remus understands." Roman glared over at the light blue puffball of purity making him frown.
"That's not the point Patton." Roman deflated as closed his eyes trying to calm himself down. "Ray's been taking over the bills since I lost my job. I'm trying to pay him back... He's in college. He should be focusing on that. Meanwhile, I can't hold a job because of this..." Roman gestured to everything and the other two frowned.
"Roman, we did offer you..."
"I don't want your help guys." Roman flailed about a bit with a dramatic whine making Patton chuckle. "I'm supposed to be your teammate. Not a charity case... I don't want you to hand me a job or a loan or anything. I just want this shit to be over with... Not... Not this... the fucking no money crap." Roman sighed as he rubbed his forehead in annoyance. "Father fucked us over."
"Now kiddo..."
"My father fucked us over Pat. He stole everything we had and gambled it away leaving us with nothing while he runs off and disappears." Patton frowned as Roman's eyes shined with pain. "There's no other way to say it. Now I have to go home to tell Ray I don't have the money. Fuck, I was supposed to buy groceries..." Roman yelled out causing several things to go flying only for Logan to sigh and catch them all with his powers, bringing them back to where they were. "I'm a very shitty guardian."
"Roman, I have offered you time and time again a place to stay rent-free. You've denied it." Roman glared over at him as Logan shook his head. "I can understand why. So I offered a job... and you denied it. It isn't much else I can do... but pay your bills for you."
"I'd hate you." Logan laughed as Roman mumbled under his breath. "Seriously... I'd hate you."
"You're a good man Roman. Yet you refuse to take any money we get from the jobs. Half the money we get is rightfully yours."
"Yeah, kiddo. I know how you feel but you really need to start thinking about this. Either you accept our offer or... You start making this your job." Patton smiled sadly as he took Roman's hand. "You don't deserve any of this. Why don't you go home... We'll take care of everything right now."
"No, I can't... I..." The look he got from his two friends made it quite clear there was no discussion. "Ok. Thank's guy."
Roman sighed as he walked himself into his apartment. He had spent the entire time trying to think of things to say but the moment he walked into the smell of chocolate he froze up. His eyes narrowed as he heard the soft laughter and he actually started to cry.
"ROAMIE!" Roman tensed as the sound of small feet raced out of the kitchen. His eyes met those cool chocolate brown and smiled softly bending to catch her as he jumped into his arms. "Roamie... Ray ray made chocolate cake!" Roman frowned as he slowly walked in to find Remus pulling a cake out of the oven.
"Oh did he now?" Roman carefully put the little girl down as he stared at the cake with growing tears. "And... how did we..."
"I came into some money today, Ro." Roman's eyes darkened as Remus set the cake onto the counter next to a box of pizza. "I know. I know. We've both said if we have the money we should save up but I thought... I would spoil my siblings for once."
"For once? Remus, you spoil us all the time." Remus frowned as Roman wiped his tears away quickly before anyone could see. "What about..."
"Rent's been paid. The water and electricity were taken care of... and I spoke to Jan about the internet and he said he would try to work on something otherwise we might have to cancel it." Roman tried to swallow his guilt as Remus went to the fridge and pulled out a water tossing it over to his twin. "In regards to food, Jan's going to be taking me to the pantry so I can work on that. And I know food should come first but Chrissy needed some new clothes so I promised to take her shopping."
"No, it's ok. I uh... I guess you just assumed..." Remus froze up as he glanced over to see Roman biting his lip. "I'm sorry. I haven't really been helping with the bills much, have I?"
"I don't mind, Roman. I've told you before. I'm living here too." Roman rolled his eyes as Remus sighed. "You let me handle the bills. You take care of finding our asshole father." Roman's eyes flashed as Remus slammed the icing on the table. "That's how you can pay me back."
