Virgil sighed softly as he walked around town. He was just lost in thought thinking about Roman and all the crap that man had to deal with. Yes, Virgil's been through a lot and is always having to look over his shoulder but... He's either past those parts or have become numb to his struggles. Right now his love is being thrust back into his trauma and isn't taking it very well.

The second they got the call Roman seemed to snap. He wasn't overbearing as he never told Virgil what he could or couldn't do but he WAS highly alert and over-anxious. He'd ask him so many questions and literally, beg him to be ok. Virgil understood. Roman was a very dependant kind of guy. The two of them equally relied on each other for safety and support. That's why it hurt so much to see Roman so frightened.

Roman is never alone at this point. He is always with someone, just to make sure his father didn't try to sneak one up on him. He'd either be with Logan, Patton, or Virgil. And on top of all of that, no one could get ahold of either Remus or Janus and that was starting to wear Roman down as well.

No one was really managing as they were all far too concerned about what was going on. The police issued a report letting the citizens know that the supervillain Headhunter had escaped Police detainment. Virgil wanted to scream. That man traumatized the love of his life and he's just out there free to do it agai-...

"Hello." Virgil's entire body froze up the second he heard that voice. The form he had taken had telepathy and it was screaming at him. "It's taken me so long to actually find you, you know?" Virgil slowly turned around to see a man in a dark grey suit and black mask making his head drop. "Shifters are such pesky creatures."

"Headhunter?" Klaus's smirk widened as he nodded and gave a small bow. "What..."

"I'm afraid I had to change my outfit. I couldn't let the police know who I was now could it." Virgil's eyes narrowed as he glared the Villan down.

"I suggest you run off before I call them myself."

"And risk you getting arrest?" Virgil flinched slightly as he growled at the man. "I don't think you will. Besides, I came offering a job."

"I don't want it." Klaus just continued to smirk as Virgil went to leave.

"I could always go ask my son again." The way Virgil went rigid was quite obvious despite keeping a pretty neutral and unaffected expression. Klaus only smirked all the more as Virgil looked back to glare at him.

"At what makes you think I give two flying shits about whoever the fuck your son is and what you do with him?"

"Oh, I don't know... He seemed to care an awful lot about you." Virgil's face fell as Klaus just laughed. "My son's always had quite the anger but I've never seen it so... strong as it was when he demanded I leave the 'shifter' alone. So? Either you join me or I go pay my son another visit."

"He's not your Son. None of them are your family."

"I suppose not... not by bond anyway."  Klaus just laughed making Virgil's blood ring cold. "But we are still blood and I know just how to twist Roman's gears. He still owes me for our... last visit."

"Stay the fuck away from him." Virgil stormed off only to groan as Klaus just fell into step behind him.

"Well if not you... and not him... I'll just have to go see my daught-..." Virgil had him against the wall in seconds. Klaus's eyes lit up as Virgil growled angrily.

"You stay the fuck away from ALL of them. You don't even get the RIGHT to call that girl your daughter you piece of shit. You not only LEFT them ALL, you sick twisted fuck... the things you did to Roman... You're lucky I don't try and kill you right now." Klaus tilted his head with a smile making him look all creepy and Virgil hissed in annoyance.

"Then you don't exactly have a choice now do you, Kid. After all... I could very easily break Roman and Christine without so much as trying. I raised them, Shifter. I know them better than anyone." Virgil faltered as he let go and stepped back with this look of sudden realization. Klaus just chuckled as he fixed his suit.

"You're using your own kids as blackmail.'

"I'll use anyone and anything to get what I want in life." Everything completely crashed in Virgil as Klaus draped his arm over his shoulder. "Heres the thing Shifter... I won't lie to you. I'm using you too. My son made a dangerous mistake when he did what he did to me. This is me... returning the favor. If I end up going down, everyone else goes down with me."

"So I'm your insurance?"

"And in return, you are protecting Roman and Christine from whatever it was I was going to have them do. I think it's a suitable trade." Virgil rolled his eyes but didn't try to fight him anymore. "You don't have a choice here, Shifter. So... are you coming?"

"Lead the way."

"Where is he?" Roman whined as he stared at his phone paranoid. Logan frowned with concern seeing how worried his best friend was. "Logan did he text you or..."

"I'm sure Virgil is fine. I might not know his powers but you've said he can handle himself well."

"He's strong as fuck but strength means NOTHING with my father!" Roman jumped up and started to pace as everything started to get the better of him. "Virgil said he would tell me as SOON as his job was done. AND WHERE THE HELL IS REMUS?!"

"Roman..."

"I can't deal with this." Roman choked as he leaned against the wall and cried. "I still haven't called Thomas to warn him about him yet."

"I can do that. You need to try and relax." Logan sighed seeing the glare Roman gave him through his ginger hair.  "I know that sounds like I'm being insensitive but you know Virgil would tell you the same thing. So please, sit down and just try to breathe."

"Logan, I had a vision." Logan's face fell instantly as the tears fell harder from Roman's eyes. "My father does something to him... to Virgil. I saw it. What if... What if he hurts him and I wasn't there to protect him? I'm supposed to be a hero but all I'm doing is being a coward."

"Hey, we all have our trauma. Patton and Myself are included in that. We all became heroes for a reason. Do not think that your reaction to facing the worst trauma you've had as a child makes you weak." Roman didn't do anything but stare at the phone he was clutching tightly. "Virgil will be fine. If your father does get to him, I know enough of his character from the little I've seen of him to know he is stubborn and smart. He will not go down."

"I love him, Logan. I love him more than anything..."

"Then trust he'll be able to protect himself."
