"Roman?" Virgil slowly opened the door, finding Roman sitting there in the bed staring at his lap sadly. "Roman, hun... You don't have to stay in bed anymore."  Virgil frowned as he walked a bit further into the room noticing now Roman's eyes darted up to him before they fell back to where they were looking before. "Roman."

"H...lo L-...ve." Roman smiled slightly before hugging his knees to his chest. Virgil just sighed as he sat down at the end of the bed making Roman look at him again.

"I know your upset. I can understand that. No one wants their powers taken. Not even me and I never really liked my powers. But hun... You can't just stay in bed all day. You need to eat. You need to shower." Roman's eyes narrowed in confusion as Virgil continued to talk. "I'm sorry the suppressor takes so long. Logan never told me how strong it was. I just... We needed to heal you and we couldn't with your powers as out of control as they were. I mentioned just putting you to sleep but... Logan said you can still use them sometimes even if you are asleep so that wouldn't work. I..."

"Virgil, I can't..." Virgil stopped short hearing the subtle choked noise Roman made as he talked. Roman just curled up into himself more as he looked away.

"Hun, we just needed the powers suppressed to heal you. Once they were Patton and I both fixed everything. You're ok to move around. Please? I... I hate not seeing you. I hate that you just stay in bed. I... I hate that I hurt you so much." Roman frowned seeing the tears building in his love's eyes. His heart broke at the sight. Yes, he was mad but not at Virgil. He didn't know. And if Roman had to be honest, if the situation was reversed, He would have done the same to same his love too. He quickly pushed himself up and crawled over to Virgil, reaching up to brush the tears away as the younger held his hand close to him. They hadn't had much time together as they both seemed to be giving the other space. Unfortunately, that just made them both more upset as they craved to be with the one they love.

"Ple-... on't... ry." Roman whispered softly only to see as Virgil's face scrunched up in confusion. He must not have said it loud enough again. "Please don't cry." He tried again this time smiling as Virgil looked up at him. "I don't like it when you cry. It makes me sad... because you're sad. I want you to be happy."

"That's all I want for you." Virgil sniffled as he pulled Roman in, burying himself into the other's chest. "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, Roman. Please don't be mad. I love you so much."

"Virgil, I can't... Damn it." Roman groaned as he quickly pushed the other away to meet his gaze one more time. "Speak slowly... short sentences... please?" Virgil's eyes shot up in confusion as this look of anxious tension completely took over Roman's face. "Please?"

"I'm sorry." Roman's eyes softened a bit as Virgil just sniffled again. "I love you."

"I love you too. I'm not mad at you, Virgil. I know why you did it. I just... I can't take it. Not having my powers... Its...I relied on them far too much." Virgil frowned as he tugged on Roman's shirt making the man chuckle softly. "Yes?"

"Can we get out of the room now?" Roman tensed as Virgil stared down at nothing.

"What? I... I didn't get that."

"Can we leave?" Roman's eyes narrowed as he watched Virgil closely, unsure of what was going on. His pain only got worse as he watched. He seriously hated this. All this time and he still couldn't do it. "Can we..."

"Can we what?" Virgil hesitated as he looked up to see the pure confusion on his love's face. "That's all I got. Can we what?"

"Leave." Roman's eyes widened as Virgil gestured back to the door. "The room?"

"I really don't want to. I mean..."

"You need to eat, Roman. You haven't had anything since that morning and that was several days ago. Please?" Virgil got himself up and gently tugged on Roman's arm who grimaced in anxiety over the action. "Please, come out."

"Come... Come out?" Virgil nodded as Roman just sat there too anxious to move. "Logan."

"Isn't here." Virgil shook his head a bit making Roman tilt his in confusion. "He left with Patton to do patrol. It's just us."

"Just us." Virgil nodded again as Roman crashed. "I... I don't..."

"Please, Love?" Roman only nodded as he let Virgil pull him up out of bed. He didn't say as they slowly made their way through the place. Roman only hesitated once at the stairs before following after at the sad look Virgil had given him. The second he saw the kitchen Roman's stomach made a sound to which Virgil giggled softly at. He gestured to the table making Roman frown a bit in thought before doing as he was told and sitting down. It wasn't that long after the two of them were both there with some sandwiches.

"Th-...ks hun." Roman smiled as he slowly started to eat, not really noticing how hungry he was until he took that first bit. "...o good."

"It's just a sandwich." Virgil laughed as Roman seemingly ignored him far too focused on the food. "Are you at least feeling a little better now? I mean... You aren't done yet but your eating and you have some water too. I didn't like how you wouldn't eat or drink. It scared me." Virgil frowned noticing how Roman still wasn't paying any attention to him. "Roman?" Nothing. Roman just hummed happily as he ate, almost like a puppy would do when they got their food. "Roman."

"Ro, sweety, I know you're hungry but can you at least answer me when I call you?" This pit filled Virgil's gut as Roman once again ignored him. He didn't bother calling him again. He didn't do a thing until Roman finally glanced up to see the fear in Virgil's eyes and he froze up mid bite. He slowly set the sandwich down giving Virgil a worried look as the younger swallowed his fear. "Roman, I was calling you... again." The way the man's eyes narrowed in confusion only made Virgil's heart drop. "Roman..." Roman just sighed as he let his sandwich go completely, tears building in his eyes.

"I can't take this. I really can't." Virgil tensed as Roman hugged himself, a few tears falling down his cheeks. "Every time you talk to me... It hurts."

"Roman, it's ok. Whatever it is we'll figure it out. You and me... We'll get through this. We..."

"God damn it, Virgil. I can't hear you!" Virgil paled the second those words left Roman's lips. The entire room went completely silent... not that Roman knew that. Virgil just sat there in his chair in total shock as Roman cried. "I can't hear you." He curled up into himself holding his head in his hands as he practically sobbed. "I want to. I want to so bad. I miss your voice. I want to hear it again but... I need my powers. Without them... It's just silent. I can't deal with this. I can't do this again. It took so long to get past it. I just... I..." Roman jumped the second he felt something touch his shoulder and he looked over to see the pain in his love's eyes. Virgil didn't say anything but he didn't have to. Roman could see the question clear as day as he just nodded and broke down even more. Virgil pulled him in, as Roman let go completely and sobbed so sadly into Virgil's chest. "Virgil... I'm deaf."
