"WAKE UP! WAKE UP! THIS IS YOUR MIDNIGHT ALARM! WAKE THE FUCK UP YOU DISNEY REJECT!" Roman jumped up to find Remus standing beside his bed laughing. "Oh my lord. Sorry, but your face was perfect!"

"Remus, I'm going to kill you." Remus winked as he quickly ran out of the room leaving Roman to chase after him. "REMUS, I SWEAR TO GOD!"

"You got to catch me first!" Remus jumped up onto the table jumping up to the chandelier. He wrapped his legs around it and beamed as he just hung there with his arms crossed. Roman paled as Remus laughed hysterically. "Try to catch me now Romano."

"Remus get down from there." Roman tensed as he felt a hand go to his pant leg. He looked down to find his little sister and he sighed. "Remus, please. Your scaring Christine."

"Ray Ray?" Remus frowned as he sighed as slowly let himself down. "You're going to hurt yourself. Like Roamie does all the time."

"Hey!" Roman chuckled a bit as he picked the little girl up who giggled as he tickled her a bit. "Ok, I will admit. I am a clutz." Roman looked away as he tried to stuff the guilt of lying down. "Why don't you go wash up Chrissy? Ray did say he'd get you some clothes."

"YAY!" Roman just stood there watching as he deflated. Remus shook his head as he placed a supportive hand to his shoulder.

"Have you told her yet?"

"That Thomas offered to take her in?" Remus's eyes narrowed as Roman laughed sadly. "Or that I accepted?"

"He's going to be coming to take her soon, Ro. You have to tell her. You're her guardian."

"For now... Then I'll just be the brother who let her go." Roman turned away as he walked out leaving Remus there alone. "I need a walk."

"If you have the money can you pick up breakfast?" Roman nodded silently as he left taking a deep breath of morning air. Things just weren't looking good for them. Now he was going to have to deal with all this.

When their father had left them Thomas had offered to take them all in but Roman said no. He never explained why but... Being a hero he couldn't just abandon his town. Not with Confusious out there causing problems. He couldn't just leave those two on their own. Especially with Raven out and about... not that he causes many issues.

Roman sighed as he forced himself to keep walking. Then Roman had to go and lose his stupid job. He hated it anyway. It hardly paid the bills, to begin with, but it did help. Then Manic popped up causing trouble and robbing places. That was when Thomas offered again. Roman had declined saying he couldn't leave. Remus had just started college so he was out. Then Thomas asked how Chrissy was doing and everything just broke. By the time Roman had left Thomas had gotten him to agree with letting him adopt Chrissy. It was the better option. After what happened with those villains ATTACKING HIS... Roman stopped and took a deep breath as he struggled not to let his tears fall.

He couldn't risk his life as a hero ever hurting his family. He thought they had kidnapped his brother. He went crazy. THEY DID TAKE CHRISSY! If it wasn't for Manic bringing her back to him unharmed and actually caring... He probably would have killed him on the spot. It was the only time Roman had willingly let a known criminal escape. Chrissy had cried in his arms begging for him and Remus. Obviously his family didn't know he was Resonant but still... It hurt. It hurt knowing he couldn't protect his own family. When Roman had gone home to find Remus patching himself up in the bathroom he broke down.

It's bad enough keeping your secret identity from your family. The moment you find out they were hurt because of it... it breaks you apart. Roman didn't have another choice. He knew Thomas would care for her. He was family. He knew Chrissy and loved her. Roman didn't have to be scared that Thomas wouldn't treat her right. He was more afraid that she would never forgive him. When she finally finds out... She'll only hate him. It's only a matter of...

"Shit!" Roman groaned as he held his head to keep the world from spinning. He still hadn't fully recovered from his fight with Raven and he was always too stubborn to let Patton help him. "What the hell..." Roman glanced over and his jaw just dropped. A man about his age sat wincing on the pavement in front of him. His overly baggy black patchwork hoodie engulfed him well but it didn't hide his snowy white hair. His stunning ocean blue eyes met his and he frowned seeing the way the man curled into him. "Hey, are you ok?"

"Y-Yeah... I-I'm fine." Roman shook his head as he got himself up and held his hand out much to the other's surprise. He narrowed his eyes slightly as he let Roman help him up before glaring at everything. "Thanks... I-I should g-go."

"Hey, wait... what's your name?" The man froze up shooting Roman a confused look who only smiled in return. "I'm Roman Black. And you are?"

"Not interested." Roman laughed as the man shot him and even more confused look. "Why? Why do you care?"

"Well, a cute boy just swept me off my feet..." The man's eyes went wide as Roman smirked a bit. "...quite literally I might add. I want to know who I had the pleasure of falling for."

"That was smooth..." The man frowned as he hugged himself and shook his head. "...but it won't work. Trust me you don't want to deal with me. Just forget you ever saw me." He went to turn away again only for Roman to grab his arm with a slight look of concern. Normally Roman wouldn't continue to push. Clearly the other didn't want to continue the conversation but... Roman was worried. With what the man had said... he just wanted to make sure he was ok. He was a hero after all. "What?"

"Why don't we get some coffee? I have to go there anyway... we could just sit and..."

"And I told you." The man tore his hand free with a sad look in his eyes as he walked away. "I'm not interested."
