"Connie, hurry up!" Manic yelled out as he dodged one of Rez's attacks. Virgil stood there once again just observing it all. How he constantly manages to find himself at a battle, he really didn't know. He watched the heroes as they moved about. He was observant after all. He's had to be with the way he's grown up. Everything is of notice.

Angel was having a problem.

A large ball of light filled the air mixing and morphing until it made a fog. An illusion... Confusious, of course. The sound of Manic's fanatic giggles echoed about the place as he no doubt ran inside to steal all the money. Virgil really didn't understand how a world where EVERYONE has powers things like banks don't have suppressors. Police do. They have cuff... special cuff they love to put on people like him but banks and governmental property for the most part are left to fend for themself. That's why they get robbed.

All Virgil wanted to do today was deposit his money and be on his way. He had a friend to meet after all and this was cutting into his time. Well... actually it did more than just that. Since it was being robbed he couldn't exactly deposit anything now.

He should just leave. He could leave and go home. No. He should just go wait for Roman at the cafe. God, after this he really just wanted to hang with Roman. That of course was a bit of surprise considering Virgil was practically a hermit unless he had to be out. He knew he cared deeply for his friend, he just couldn't let himself do anything about it. Yes, Roman said he was willing to learn about shifters and truly try to put in an effort into understanding them... and Virgil couldn't have been happier about that, but... He still knew. He knew the second Roman finds out he's one of them... Roman's gone, and frankly at this point Virgil didn't know if he could ever survive losing him like that.

Angel was definitely having a problem. The more Virgil watched the more concerned he was. That bubbly hero seemed to be lagging and getting worse with every second. He was drained and tired. He was sure everyone could tell. Virgil's eyes narrowed as he noticed how Confusious was targeting him more with his illusions. Polarity was struggling to keep Angel safe behind him why Rez... Oh shit... Rez was surrounded.

"Damn it all!" Virgil yelled out as he jumped up shifting into a form he rarely ever decides to use. His eyes shined a bright yellow as his fingers twitched making all these threads glint in the sun light. He really hated this form... The puppeteer, as he named it... but for what the needed to do he was going to need it. "ENOUGH!" Virgil yelled out jumping down into the fray as he whipped his hands out sending his threads everywhere before anyone could stop him. They all froze up completely entangled by the self made wires of energy as Virgil sighed and shook his head. His eyes flashed as he felt energy being taken from Confusious, who tense up in realization, and being given to Angel, whos eyes went wide at the feeling. "I've been watching long enough. I've grown tired and honestly, I'm just pissed off!"

"Raven..." Rez growled his eyes dark and sharp like daggers imbeding itself into Virgil's skull. "Release us now!"

"Oh... fuck nuggets." Manic mumbled as he walked out of the bank and just dropped the bags onto the ground. "Uh... C-Connie?"

"Don't just stand there, moron." Virgil growled as he gestured with his head to the only other one not trapped by his threads. "Go before I change my mind."

"Connie!"

"Go, Manic!" Confusious yelled out making Manic tense up. It was clear that the villain was sudden;y very winded. "I'll be fine."

"But Con..." Virgil frowned before rolling his eyes. With a flick of the wrist he sent Confusious back into Manic who caught him easily with this look in his eyes.

"I stopped the fight and now I'm giving you time." Manic's eyes only darkened clearly angery over Confusious's state. "Get going, before I change my mind."

"I should kill you..."

"It's your choice." Virgil smirked as his eyes flashed even brighter. "But rembmer who it was that saved your ass." Manic shoved the bags into his partners hands before picking him up and just taking off. Rez roared in anger at the sight, struggling to tare through the threds but Virgil simply laughed. "I'm sorry. Did that upset you?" Rez's burning gaze turned to him as Virgil tensed up suddenly. That gaze... That gaze actually scared him. Rez whistled sending the sound waves to slam into Virgil, flying him back and making the threds snap. Virgil grunted at the pain. Who knew something that had no physical form could pack such a fucking punch. Lightning cracked as Virgil shifted out into his raven form superspeeding away from the group with a tense look in his eyes.

"You know as fun as this is..." Virgil choked out a laugh as Rez attacked him making him go on the defensive to block the punches. "...I have somewhere I have to be."

"So do I." Rez snapped as he shoved his foot into Virgil's gut making him slam into a light post, before holding his hand out and making the gravity solidify until Virgil whimpered at the pressure. "Unfortunately, It doesn't seem like either of us are really going to make it."

"R-Rez?" Angel spoke softly seeing the way his friend was so angry. He frowned as he met Raven's eyes and sighed. He felt what the shifter had done. He knew Raven had helped him. He was tired. Exausted from healing Roman AND the other lady the night prior... Raven could have used that to his advantage. Confusious already was yet... Instead Raven had somehow given him energy. Raven had helped him. "Rez stop!" Rez froze up hand poized to punch and knock the shifter out as Angel just smiled and shook his head. "We can't."

"What are you talking about?"

"I can't." Angel whined as Raven looked up and blinked. "Go. Go on, Kiddo. I'm returning the favor." Raven's eyes darkened as he shifted into Polarity and teleported out without a single word.

"PATTON!" Roman yelled as he spun around only to freeze. His eyes narrowed seeing the sad smile his friend had before he looked over at Logan with a question in his eyes. A question Logan didn't have an answer to. "Pat... You just let Raven go. Raven..."

"I had to, Roman... He didn't do anything bad this time."

"Bad? Patton he helped those villains!" Patton smiled as he shook his head again.

"Did he?" Roman faltered as Logan's eyes narrowed in confusion. Patton looked around at the two of them before just shrugging. "Guys... Raven only let them go with what they would have already stolen in the future. I was to weak to fight and they knew that. The fight would have been lost anyway. Raven cut in before anyone got hurt. You were even surrounded and struggling, Ro. Raven stopped it all and let them go."

"Exactly he helped them..."

"He helped us ALL." Roman cringed as Patton gave him this father look. "He gave me energy that he took from Confusious. He ended the fight before You or I got injured. I couldn't in my right mind let you take him in when he didn't do anything wrong this time."

"DID YOU FORGET WHAT HE DID?!" Roman roared as he laughed out at everything. "That asshole HELPED to kidnap MY little sister!" Patton only forwned seeing the in Roman's eyes. "That shifter piece of shit... fuckers the whole lot of..." Roman froze, his heart breaking in his chest as he realized what he was saying. The very thing Virgil was seeing him to try and fix. Roman crashed, his arms falling to his side as he just shook his head and walked off.

"Roman?" Logan called out but Roman never even paused. The poor breaking hero just walked off. Raven was his base for all other shifters. His thoughts and feelings for the man were making everything else muddled but... maybe... just maybe he should stop. Stop hyperfocusing his anger on the man. Otherwise, he's never going to change...

And he might just lose Virgil because of it...

And that is something he just can't let happen.
