"I know, Pat. It's ok." Roman smiled sadly as he grew closer to his destination. "It's ok. I've calmed down. I promise. I understand why you did it."
"It's just... I couldn't do it, Ro. I know how you feel about him but..."
"Patton, thank you." Patton clammed up suddenly as Roman sighed. "If you hadn't stopped me... I probably wouldn't have held back. Thinking about it, I kicked him really hard."
"Ro..."
"I told you. I've calmed down. I went over everything in my head. I know why you did it. I just... I can't forget what happened. With Chrissy... I let my anger of it take over. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you. That being said... I won't make it to dinner." Roman paused as he stared at the house that sat at the address he had been given. "I know I'm the one that asked for us to have dinner together so we can talk but... I'm going to reschedual."
"Roman, if you're angry, I understand..."
"No, Pat. I'm not angry. Not anymore. I told you I was meeting with Virgil right?" Patton seemed to pause before humming to let Roman know it was a yes. "Well, I called to let him know I was going to be late. You know because of everything that happened and... well..."
"Is he ok? He didn't yell at you did he? The last time you saw him, it didn't seem like you to really parted much on good terms." Roman groaned as he raked a hand through his hair.
"Don't remind me. It's was my fault. No... Pat. He didn't yell at me. He got hurt... somehow. I'm actually at his place to check in on him." A small 'oh' echoed through the phone making Roman smile sadly. "Yeah. And knowing me if he needs me I'm not just going to drop it so... I thought we would just reschedule the diner, if that's ok with you and Lo. I want to make sure Virgil's ok and can actually take care of himself without getting hurt worse."
"If you need it, I can come over and heal..."
"I would love that, Patton but..." Roman shook his head to himself as he slowly walked up the steps. "Virgil's a very guarded man. He doesn't just let people in. I don't think he would appreciate me bringing you to him."
"But..."
"If he needs it, I'll get him to a doctor. I know I'm doing, Patton. Please, trust me?" There was a soft worried sigh on the other line as Roman checked the lock finding the door was still locked. He couldn't help but chuckle a bit.
"Ok. If your sure, Kiddo."
"Like I said, Patton. I would more than love it if you could help but... Virgil wouldn't want that. I'm sorry."
"Why are you sorry kiddo? I'm sorry I can't help." Roman nodded to himself as his hand slipped a bit.
"Well, I got to go, Pat. I'm here. I should get in before people think I'm weird for just standing here talking." Patton laughed before shooting him a soft good by and hanging up. Roman went to get Virgil just to let him know he was here only... to remember what Virgil had said. Roman smiled as he held his hand out towards the door feeling everything shift and twinge, clicking into place. He snapped his other fingers creating a sound wave that he moved to twist the lock just right and... "Score!" Roman opened the now unlocked door finding the house a bit... stagnet. Not unlived... no just... Roman really didn't know how to explain it. It had things and clearly portrayed that someone lived there. However it held no life. As if Virgil didn't have a life to fill the house with and that concerned Roman dearly.
"Virgil? It's Roman." Roman called out as he walked through the placed pulling his dark red coat off and just laying it over his arm as he went. "Virge?" Roman frowned as he walked into the living room finding it a bit messy. He wasn't scrutinizing. No, his house was far more disasterious than this. Virgil simply just had a few things laying about. Nothing bad at all. The only thing... Virgil wasn't in there and he really didn't feel comfortable moving about if Virgil didn't know he was here. "Virgil?" He called out again as he placed his jacket down and slowly walked down the hallway. His eyes narrowed as he tried to tune into any sounds hoping to lock on to where his friend was to not go accidentally snooping. "Vir..." Roman stopped before clapping as loud as he could sending the sound waves all around like some super over charge echolocation until... Roman bounded up the steps with a slight smile, knocking on the furthest door the left. "Virgil, it's Roman?"
"I'm gonna come in ok?" Roman waited a second before nudging the door open and finding Virgil just laying in bed asleep. Well, he did say he was going to nap till Roman got there. Roman walked over gently placing a hand over Virgil's forehead and smiling. No fever. That's good. He didn't know what was wrong after all. As long as there was no immediate threat, then he could relax. It was days like this Roman wished he had the same powers most doctors did. Not just to heal but to know what was wrong with them too. Well... He could always...
No. No, it's better to wait until Virgil was up to ask for consent. Using you're powers on another person without it is not a good thing at all. Roman's already done that with Virgil once without thinking. He wasn't about to do it again. So instead Roman created a note and pen, writing out a little message that he was just downstairs and that if he was needed to call. That he would hear him. Roman knew just staying here might be a bit unsettling but he also knew that Virgil would understand. Roman couldn't just leave without knowing 100% that Virgil was ok.
He'd just wait in the living room for his friend to wake up.
