chapter eleven

The next day, king Quan and Arthur decided to go on a journey to Velaria. A woman who was gifted with the power of seeing the past and present lived there. It was a two-hour journey and very soon they arrived at the place with their horses. The only problem was how to find the woman. The only information that they could get from some people was that the woman was living there but they had never seen the place where she was living. They claimed that the place was enchanted and the only way to meet her was if she invited you herself.
That was like little or no information for both kings and they started feeling dejected. They went back to the clearing where their horses were and proceeded to think about the next thing to do. At that exact time, the wind started howling and it was hard for them to see around because a fog was also building up. When it finally cleared, they saw a small hut which looked unreal. They started to move towards it. As they were about to get near the door, it automatically opened, and they heard an ethereal voice.
"Come my children, I have been waiting for you". They entered to find a very small old woman who had golden, white and silver hair. She was dressed in a silver robe and carried a silver walking stick. She had piercing grey eyes which entranced the two kings.
"sit", she said. She continued, "I know why you are here. You want to know the mother of us all". The two kings both nodded in agreement. "You want to know where the second letter of prophecy is"
"I cannot tell you the exact thing because, I am not obligated to do so. I can only give you a clue". King Arthur spoke up "dear mother, please help us. We asked for help from the wise one and he only left us in mystery. You giving us clues will leave us in more mysteries". The old woman smiled and said "patience my son. We cannot question the activities of the gods. If they decide to do something in a particular way, we don't have to question them, we have to obey them and that is exactly what we will do". The two kings were not pleased but they really had no choice in the situation. They both agreed with the old woman and she told them the clue
"The piece of paper you seek"
"Divided in unequal halves, both far apart"
"One with foe who hides as friend"
"The other with the mother of us all"
Arthur and Quan had looks of amazement written all over their faces. They were so shocked to find out that one piece of the second paper was actually with the person written about in the prophecy. The only thing left to do now was to find her. They were happy until they remembered that the two pieces were with two different people. How would they know the person who was real and the person who was fake?
The old woman as if reading their minds spoke up again "When you see her, you would just know". After she said that, she said no more. They thanked her and walked out of the hut. As soon as they got out and looked back, the hut was no longer there. They climbed their horses and went back to Aztar.
They didn't speak to each other as they were both in deep thought.
