chapter Twenty four

She entered and smiled. Olivia and Ashley turned and a shocked look crossed their faces. Ashley stood up and confronted Melina. "see this stupid little bitch, how did you get out of the dungeon? Don't you know that is where you belong?" Anger crossed Melina's face. "Ashley, I have come to save my people and the whole kingdom from you and your evil ways. You just assumed the throne two days ago and I heard that you have wrecked more havoc than all the wicked kings in the whole of history. I will not allow you to do such again. You are leaving this palace today my dear Ashley".
"Melina, I can see that you have grown wings. Why not add a little bit of sauce and spice to this whole matter? I will not kill you here in this palace. I will kill you publicly and let your rotten body decay", Ashley said. She called a servant and told him to pass an information across that everyone in the kingdom should assemble in the Main Square. She told him to add that something interesting was going to happen. She used her air powers and sent handcuffs to Melina's hands. Melina decided not to use her powers until they got to the Main Square. She allowed herself to be dragged until she had bruises all over her feet.
As soon as they all got to the Main Square, Ashley made an announcement. "My dear people, an insolent fool has looked for my trouble and I am about to show her what I am made of. Guess who the fool is? Yes, it is the girl who has no powers, our very own Melina. I am very sure we all know who will lose this battle. Right now, I will torture her and kill her slowly. No one goes against me and succeeds. Now, shall we begin?".
She cracked her knuckles and faced Melina who was still handcuffed. Melina slowly released her heat powers and the handcuffs melted without hurting her. No one saw the stunt she pulled, and she was very happy about it. She looked into Ashley's eyes and she was able to predict her every move. Ashley sent a blast of air at Melina but before it could hit her, she created a shield and blocked it out. Ashley thought she was actually seeing stars, but she realized that Melina just showed a form of power.
Olivia was sitting at the far end of the Main Square watching the events unfold. Immediately she saw what Melina did, fear gripped her and she stood up. She kept on thinking that maybe the potion she collected from the old man did not work. Either that or Melina also consulted a diabolical person like she did for Ashley.
Ashley changed the game and before Melina could blink, she sent several ice sparks at her. Melina smiled and countered it by sending a blast of water at Ashley. The water succeeded in melting the ice and it also made Ashley look like a drowned rat. The crowd started laughing but still they were surprised that Melina was displaying more than one power because, they had been told that she was powerless from birth.
