Chapter Thirty seven

The next day, Melina woke up as early as possible. She kind of hoped that Xavier would not be awake but, she was wrong because as soon as she stepped outside, she met him standing beside her car with that stupid smile on his face. All she wanted to do was slap it off his face but, she maintained a cool stance and faked a smile “your highness, thank you for your hospitality, I will be leaving now”. Xavier felt sarcasm dripping from the way she said the word “hospitality” and he felt somewhat bad but he did not let it affect him. “you are welcome Melina, do send my greetings to the palace”. After saying this, he opened the door and she got in. Melina just hated the fact that the way he pronounced her name affected her badly.

Melina’s POV
I huffed as soon as I got into the car. Truth be told, I did not want to leave but, he did not want me and I did not like overstepping my boundaries. I decided to get a little sleep before I got back to my kingdom
“Melina, Melina”
“Everything takes patience”
“Be patient”
“Patie…”
I woke up. Either Alycaneia found a way to communicate with me through my dreams or I was definitely going crazy. I sighed and looked out of the window and I realized that in few minutes, we would be at Lasantha.
About twenty minutes later, we arrived. I met my parents, Noe and surprisingly, my sister Nylah. Happy was an understatement, I was overjoyed. Seeing my family complete like this was the best thing ever. I greeted my parents first then, I turned to my siblings.
“My my, look at my baby sister looking all beautiful. Heard you went to Lycania”, Noe said. I smiled, jumped on him and hugged him tight. “Noe, I have missed you so much”. Nylah was giving Noe the stink eye “you did not even let her hug me first, you potato head”. I laughed out loud and gave her a tight hug which left her gasping for breath. “easy there tiger, don’t overdo it”, she said.
I scrunched my face up then smiled again. I dragged Nylah’s arm and told her we needed to talk. Noe wanted to join in the conversation but Nylah and I responded in sync “girls talk!”. He laughed and backed out. Nylah and I both went into my room.
“What is wrong?”. She asked. I told her everything about how Xavier is my mate, how I met Navistar and the goddess of wolves Alycaneia, how they told me Xavier’s story, how I went to his palace and how he treated me coldly. I ended it with the dream I had about someone telling me to be patient. “Nylah, I know Xavier knows that I am his mate and he should be happy but why the hell is he treating me like trash?”
Nylah smiled and spoke “baby girl, from what I have seen, it looks as if Xavier does not really know how to handle his emotions and his mother who is supposed to put him through is the person he hates the most. You just have to give him time, he will come around”
I was still sulking and grumbling until she nudged me hard and I almost fell off the bed. I gave her the “I will murder you look” and got up.
She talked again “by the way, when are you going to tell mum and dad?”. I told her very soon that I really did not feel like telling them now.
We went back to meet the others. We all talked a little and then, Noe and Nylah decided to leave. After they left, I went into the garden, released my powers a little, felt refreshed then went back into the palace. I laid on my bed and thought about what Nylah said. She was actually right.

Looked like I was going to give the almighty Xavier another chance yeah?
