MELINA

Chapter forty six

It was finally the day when Melina’s family had to leave Lasantha for Lycania to attend the marriage rites. When they got there, they were warmly welcomed, and Xavier made sure that her family members had nice rooms to sleep in. Between the two days that were left, Melina went out with her mother and sister to get a white gown that she would wear during the marriage. Tradition stated that the marriage rituals had to commence in the night under the moon and the bride and the groom were supposed to be dressed in a white cloth.
They got a beautiful halter neck gown with sequins at the bottom of the gown. They did not get any shoes because they were supposed to be barefoot.
The night prior to the marriage, Melina’s mother and sister came into her room and they had a fun night by gisting and talking about marriage in general. There were also a lot of teasing and Melina blushed until she was beet red.

The marriage night
People of Lycania kingdom were assembled under the full moon all dressed in white. Xavier came out dressed in a white shirt which was slightly unbuttoned. His black hair was gelled backwards and he was eye candy to everyone. “People of Lycania Kingdom, we are here to witness the marriage of I, the alpha, to Melina from Lasantha Kingdom. I want you all to know that if you are giving me 100 percent respect, you must also give 100 percent respect because she is my mate and will be the Luna of this kingdom. We shall now begin the rites”
Melina was called out and when Xavier laid his eyes on her, he sucked in his breath because if stunning was a person it will be her. Her golden hair was in a French braid, secured with pins so that the frame of her face was very pronounced. Her natural beauty did no justice to the little bit of mascara that coated her eyes. The gown she wore was her right size and it framed her body perfectly. She was beautiful. She walked over to the alter where Xavier was standing on. There were lit candles all around. There was also a knife in a small bowl placed on the alter. Xavier took the knife and sliced his palm, then he allowed the blood to drip into the bowl. His cut healed instantly because he was a werewolf and that was a normal thing.
When the blood was completely in the bowl, he said some words
“Bound by blood”
“Bound by spirit”
“Bound by soul”
“Bound forever”
Then he turned to Melina and also sliced her palm, her blood dripped into the bowl and mixed with his. Within few seconds, her cut healed instantly and she also repeated the same words.
“Bound by blood”
“Bound by spirit”
“Bound by soul”
“Bound forever”
Xavier spoke up again “Now we will proceed to the final stage of this ritual, where I will have to bite Melina’s neck so as to mark her”. Nylah gasped but she knew that it had to be done, so she just closed her eyes. Melina was not scared at all and she knew that Xavier was not going to hurt her. He moved closer to her, held her face and told her that it was going to be fast. He opened his mouth and bit into her neck. Melina felt pain for only a few seconds before the feeling was replaced with tingles. She felt the cut dry up instantly and then she saw Xavier smiling, she asked him why he was smiling and he said her mark looked beautiful. He got a mirror and brought it closer to her, and when she checked her neck, she expected to see at least a little scar but what she saw was the image of a white wolf and the moon crest above it. Then they turned and faced the crowd and Xavier talked again “Ladies and Gentlemen, I now present to you your Luna queen, Melina”. The crowd applauded and everyone was happy.
Xavier turned back to Melina and held her face. He looked at her with so much adoration in his eyes. Melina knew what was coming next and she closed her eyes for it.
Xavier kissed her.
The crowd cheered.
