MELINA

chapter thirteen

Back at Lasantha kingdom, Melina and Noe were having vigorous training. She also told him about the heat power and Noe was very amazed. Melina just finished washing up in the kitchen when her brother entered and told her that their father and king Quan found out something about a girl in a prophecy and now, they were creating a tournament to find out who the girl was. Noe looked intently at Melina and told her something, "Mel, you and I both know that you are the girl in the prophecy, and we cannot let anyone know that you are the one until we have figured out all your powers and how to use all of them. Also, you know that there are a lot of bad people out there and some of them might want to do evil things to you so, we have to be careful".
Melina nodded slowly. She was kind of scared because of what her brother said. She imagined what people will do to her if they found out that she was the girl in the prophecy. Some would even try to kill her, kidnap her, injure her and do other dreadful things to her. Noe noticed that Melina was already in deep thought and he spoke "Mel baby, stop thinking sweetheart, you are going to be fine. No one will hurt you; I will never allow anyone do anything to you". After saying those things, he hugged her and they started training again.
Melina practiced how to use her powers more effectively. She channeled her earth power, instead of creating a big tree like the first day, she willed herself to create smaller things like, small flowers. She also learnt the other side of earth power where she had the ability to create stones and rocks. She was to make a very small stone but, what sprang out of her hands were like a hundred small stones.
After seeing the level of her power earlier, Noe wasn't surprised when that happened. He just laughed because he had gotten used to her extraordinary powers. She also created some big rocks and very soon she had learnt all the rudiments of the earth power. They moved on to the air power. She channeled the air to move some leaves on a tree and the tree shook vigorously. She tried again and this time she did it slowly and the result was that the leaves were moving gently with the same rhythm.
She looked at Noe and an idea came to her head. She decided to lift him up with air but, she did not know how to go about it. Noe was looking at her with raised eyebrows and started wondering what she was up to. Melina closed her eyes and pointed towards him. The next thing Noe noticed was that he was midair and he started screaming.
Melina started laughing because he looked very funny and, she eventually put him down. Noe was breathing heavily, "Mel, cheeky little girl, you almost gave me the jitters. That was not funny". Melina laughed and told him "yeah it was not but, the expression on your face was". They both burst out laughing afterwards. Noe advised Melina to try lifting some logs of wood which were lying around. She concentrated and tried doing what she did to her brother only for the logs to burst into flames.
Seems like fire decided to make an appearance?
