Chapter Thirty eight

Xavier’s POV
Truth be told, I hated the way I treated Melina but, I had no other choice. I had a feeling that she was never going to come back to my kingdom. She would probably send someone else to deliver the foodstuff. I was actually feeling a little funny. I really wanted to hear her voice and I wanted to confirm if she was still going to come in two weeks’ time.
I picked up my phone and decided to call her. I paused for a minute contemplating on if I should or not. I ended up dialling her number and, as I was watching it ring, my heart was pounding. I heard a soft “hello” from the other side and my heart skipped a beat.
“um hi”. I hated the way I was stuttering. “Xavier?”, she responded. She sounded a little bit surprised and I did not blame her. “I just wanted to appreciate you for coming over”. “oh, it is nothing”, she said. There was an awkward silence after that and I spoke up. “um um um, I was just wondering if you will be the one to come again in the next two weeks?”, I asked her. I could literally feel her shock over the phone and then I felt her smiling. “Yes, I will or, do you want another person to come?”. “No I wanted you to come that was why I asked”. She confirmed it again and then I told her I had some issues to take care of that, I would see her in the next two weeks.
I did a little spin around in my head after the call. I felt so happy but then, I slapped myself back into reality. “wrong Xavier wrong. This is just business, do not go about catching feelings”. That was what was in my head as I walked back to my office and continued my pack duties.

Melina’s POV
Okay, hell fire probably froze over because Xavier just called me. That was the least I was expecting. Either he felt bad or Alycaneia was working wonders. That phone call left me giddy and I was so joyous. I got into the bathroom and entered the bath tub. As I was having my bath, I was making bubbles with the water. I did a lot of silly things with my powers in that bathroom.
After I dressed up and had breakfast, I went ahead to Aztar. I had to go and settle a dispute between two families. I sighed as I thought to myself “there goes the rest of my day”.

Please, someone should suggest a ship name for the two of them😁
