Chapter Thirty four

I woke up feeling somehow. After the phone call I had with Xavier two days earlier, I was not excited about going anymore. I had a feeling that maybe he did not even like me as a person or that I was too ugly for him or something. Anyway, I had to get ready. I went into the bathroom, did my business and came out. I got the drier out, blow dried my hair and I finally decided to straighten it. I straightened it but, at the very bottom, I curled it. My hair fell into beautiful waves down my back. I was pleased with my work. I looked at my blue eyes and I thought of something that could make it pop the more. I decided to use a little mascara. I added a little bit of gloss to my lips and trust me, I fell in love with myself because, damn, I looked too beautiful. I wore a baby pink dress and a pair of flats and then, I was ready to go.
The servants had packed all the food stuff into a truck one week before so they did not have to rush for anything. Father and Mother bid me farewell and made sure five body guards followed me. Four in the car in front and one with me in the car I took with the driver.
We finally arrived at Lycania and we headed to the palace. They were already expecting us so; the gates were opened quickly for us as soon as we arrived. Call it cheesy or something but, as soon as I stepped out of that car, the wind was blowing gently, and I could feel my hair going with the rhythm. Trust me, I did not even have to use my powers.
I met with silver eyes again and they were peering into my soul.

Xavier's POV
I felt bad for cutting the phone on Melina like that but, I was just being careful. I did not want to enter into something that would endanger me or anybody else. I made sure the room set up for her was cosy and comfortable. Funny enough, the room was next to mine.
I waited patiently with my beta and aides the day she was to arrive and few hours later, I heard the gates opening. I saw a guard opening the door to the car she was in and, the first thing I saw were her very small feet." Truth be told, Melina was small and portable. She looked like a woman but she looked like a child as well. Her eyes were so full of innocence. Standing beside me, she reached my chest. I kind of liked the fact that she was short". I broke out of my train of thoughts only to enter another one. As she came out of that car and I saw her, I had a very powerful urge to just hug her and kiss her. She was so beautiful; my head was in the clouds. She was messing with my brain without even knowing it.
"Hey, welcome". I almost slapped myself because I sounded like a young excited girl who was just given a Barbie doll with the full house set.
She smiled at me and greeted me. Very soon, my servants had offloaded the truck and everything was already settled. I invited her in for lunch and I tried making small talk with her. It was very awkward but at least, it was something. After the food, she asked if I could show her around the palace because, she claimed it was very big and she did not want to get lost. After, we were done with the palace, I took her into the garden. Her smile was so beautiful and she seemed pleased with everything that she saw. As she turned to go into the palace, she tripped and the only thing I could do was to catch her. Holding her in my arms felt so good and all I could do was look into those mesmerizing eyes of hers.
