Hola my peeps. I hope that this chapter can bring you some joy in these bleak times. I've been having a hard time finishing chapters lately, but I can start ones really easily. Enjoy!

Fighting Morgana was no way task. Merlin should know. He's done several times before. But, he always won.

Until today.

As it turns out, going into a blind rage only works out in your favor four out of five times.

I hadn't been hurt. Merlin made sure of that.

Emotionally damaged, but physically? I was fine.

Weeping as I carried Merlin's corpse to a nearby cave for the night, I thought about what I would tell everyone.

What I could  tell them.

What I should  tell them.

I would tell Gaius the truth. And Gwen. Maybe the knights.

What would I tell the people? They all adored Merlin. He was like a magnet. He attracted everyone to him.

I couldn't tell them that I failed. That I didn't make it in time.

I didn't make it in time. I failed. I'm the reason that Merlin is dead right now.

Failed. Messed up. Screw up. Can't do anything. Too late. Idiot. Clotp-

Oh.

Oh no.

Not that word.

Please not that word.

No.

Help.

I can't do this alone.

Breathing was hard.

Thinking was easy. As long as it was about failing.

"Help."

"I can't be alone right now. I just can't." I was pleading with nobody. And I knew that I was. I couldn't stop.

Then, "You're not alone. I'm here."

Huh, I've never hallucinated before.

"Arthur." That voice, I knew that voice. "I'm here. Don't worry about me."

I didn't mean to, but I looked at Merlin. He was stil-

He was alive.

He was sitting up. He was alive.

But

He was dead.

...how?

"You were dead. I saw you. She killed you. How are you alive now?"

"I don't know."

What Happened While He Was Dead

"I need back, again. Sorry to keep doing this to you. One day, I'll stay, but not until he dies." Looking at Death, Merlin bargained for his life back.

"Who are you prepared to give me?"

"One of the witch finders."

"Deal."

Smirking, Merlin walked back through the veil, back into the world. Just as he was out, he saw the spirit of a witch finder. And he laughed.

Because he was alive. And the witch finder was not.

And it was his fault.

And he enjoyed it.

So

He

Laughed.

Ok, so Lucah told me to post something since I had a chapter done. I will be coming out of hiatus early. I still won't have a normal posting schedule, but it will be as often as I can get a chapter out. Have a lovely day and stay happy!
