Ok, hope you guys like this. I got the idea from -Line-28- I really hope I can do the prompt justice. If not, you have to deal with it. I hope you like it. Also, sorry if you don't like that I make the village children bully him, I just think that with his mother being a single mother and not knowing who his father is, that they would bully him. I messed with ages a little bit, but hopefully you can deal with that. I also made Ealdor in Camelot. Happy reading!

Third POV

Merlin was four. He was running from the older boys in the village. They had given him a two minute head start this time. They usually gave him thirty seconds. They were three years older than he was. So they were big. Merlin was running so fast that he didn't notice where he was going. He ran into the big oak tree a couple miles away from the village.

"You're dead meat, boy." Justin- the oldest- had grabbed Merlin by the collar and was lifting him off the ground. Only a couple of feet but he was still being lifted off the ground.

"Put me down, Justin! If you don't put me down, I'll tell my mom!" the boy tried in vain to have his bully put him down.

"Fine, I'll put you down." Justin threw Merlin into the tree again. Merlin groaned in pain and rolled over so that he was on his stomach. "Now, here's what's going to happen. You're going to keep quiet from now on. If you tell anybody  what's going on, I will kill you. You know what? You're not going to speak ever again. If I hear about you ever talking, I'll kill you. And don't think I won't. And if I kill you, then you'll leave your mother all alone. And I might kill her too. So keep quiet."

They beat him up pretty good that day. He came home with a broken arm, three bruised ribs and a  black eye. He's never spoken since that day. His mother did die- just not by the hand of Justin- she died of a sickness that wasn't seen before. She died when Merlin was ten. He was left on his own. Justin and his gang of bullies were relentless after that. They never gave Merlin a break. He was always sporting some bruise or another. One of the village families took pity on him and gave him their old clothes and blankets. They didn't want a dead boy. If there was a dead boy in the village, then they would have to bury him and would have to deal with all of that stuff.

Merlin left when he was fourteen to live with his uncle. When he got there, he saved him from falling by using his magic to move the bed underneath him. He got yelled at for using magic. He wanted so badly to say that he was born with the magic- but Justin was always listening. If he said a word the boy would get a beating worse than he could imagine. Then he would get killed.

When Merlin became the prince's manservant; his world changed. Arthur was mean and almost reminded him of Justin. He made fun of him and gave him too many chores.

Arthur's POV

This servant of mine is horrible. I mean- don't get me wrong- I think he's a lovely servant, but he's a lousy person. He never talks about anything. He does his chores without any complaining. He does everything I tell him to. I give him extra chores trying to get him to get him to talk back to me. But nothing works  I want him to grow a pair and talk back to me- but it doesn't work. He just won't do anything. I just want to have a friend. Since my father won't let me fire him I have to try to get him to talk to me. I just want to have a friend. That's it. I just want a friend that I can talk to. I have to tell someone about my day. I do talk to Merlin, he just doesn't talk back. I try so hard to get him to talk, it just won't happen.
