All Hallows Eve

The day started off great. Arthur woke up by himself with the sun shining on his face. Which was weird, since that hadn't happened since Merlin had become his manservant. Which meant that something had happened to Merlin. Because Merlin would never let him sleep in. Like, ever. Even the day after Arthur had found out about Merlin's magic and the warlock was terrified for his life.

So naturally, panic set in. The king would have had a full-blown panic attack if it weren't for Gwen next to him. If something had happened to Merlin, she would've woken him up. Gwen was fast asleep, but she hadn't been for long, her cheeks were still red from the harsh wind outside. Arthur got out of bed quietly and got dressed- not well, but its the effort that matters. He walked over to his desk and looked outside. It was peaceful, the birds chirping, the knights sparring and... white things floating? That wasn't right.

He walked out of his chambers and down the hall to inspect these white floating things. The servants that he passed all seemed to be holding back a smile, but he paid no attention to them, the kingdom might be in danger.

In the courtyard, not one person seemed to be concerned by the floating things. Maybe they just hadn't looked up yet. Arthur found one and began to follow it around, it went out to the forest and led him to a clearing before it began to float down.

A ghostly voice filled the air. "Arrrrrrrthuuuuuuurrrrr Peeeeeeendrrrrrraaaaagoooooon," It said. "I am the spiiiiiriiiit of the forrrrrreeeeesst. Meeeeee and my friiiiiiieeeeeendssssss are here to teeeeeeeeell you not tooooooo kiiiiiiiiill anoooooootheeeeeeer staaaaaaag."

Arthur stepped back in fear. "But, stag are the best meat in the forest."

The white thing that was no longer floating completely changed in demeanor. It's non- existent eyebrows seemed to arch up and its invisible nose flared. "You must listen to my words. I am not to be ignored. If you kill another stag in this forest, then you and your kingdom will suffer. Do not test me."

Before Arthur could respond, a hysterical laughing came from nearby. Now, Arthur's eyebrows arched and his nose flared. "GWAINE! GET OUT HERE RIGHT NOW."

Not two moments later, a very drunk Gwaine came out from behind a thick tree trunk. "The spirit was a good idea, wasn't it, Merlin? I told you it would be. Look at 'em! He has tears in his eyes! Oh I told you to bring up the stag."

Merlin stepped out from a different tree laughing quietly. "Yeah Gwaine, you told me. Hi Arthur. I hope you didn't sleep in too long. Say, did you dress yourself?"

 Arthur rolled his eyes and began to walk away, not looking to see if Merlin or Gwaine would follow him.

Back at the castle, Percival and Leon were prepared for their prank of the day.

~~~~~
Arthur threw the door open and blasted through the hallway to his chambers. Gwen was awake now, she was dressed in a dark purple gown with her hair half up and half down. She turned to him and nearly snorted when she saw him.
"What is it?"
She turned away from him and began to tidy up his desk. "Nothing. Did you dress yourself this morning?"
"Why is everyone asking that?"
Gwen laughed again, "No reason. Why don't you look down?"
The king did so and saw what was wrong. His cheeks went red and he quickly went to his wardrobe. (I'll give a shoutout to the person who guesses what he did wrong. Hint: He didn't forget his pants)
It was nearly lunch time, so the royals stayed in the room until then.
~~~~~

"Are you sure we should be doing this? You know how much trouble Mordred got in last year." Leon said worriedly to Lancelot.

"Relaaaax. Merlin let him sleep in today, we're good."

They had gotten a small amount of vegetables from Percival's garden and were carefully dipping them in chocolate for the king. They managed to pay off one of the new workers in the kitchen to get the "treats" to the king for them, so they could make a clean get away- not that they wanted to, it was just more fun to see Arthur be tricked. Lancelot finished up by putting the coated vegetables on a tray from the kitchen filled with other chocolates and slyly giving it to the kitchen maid at the door to Arthur and Gwen's chambers.

The meal went quickly, soon they were ready to eat the tasty treats from the kitchen maid. Gwen had been informed of all the pranks that would happen that day, so she knew better than to eat the treats. But, Lancelot had thought of the queen and her sweet tooth and made sure to clearly mark the ones that were safe to eat. But, he had forgotten to tell her. So, he wrote a note and asked the kitchen maid to hand it to her without letting Arthur see the writing. The queen laughed at the note and hid it somewhere on her dress. She looked to the door where she knew that Lancelot and Leon were hiding and mouthed a small "thank you" to them.

Gwen picked up one of the chocolates meant for Arthur and inspected it carefully. She put it back down closer to Arthur.

"This one looks like one you'd like, why don't you try it." She said to him as she picked up a normal one. Arthur looked at her and smiled as he picked it up.

"What did I ever do to deserve you?" He said as he popped it in his mouth.

His eyes went wide as he spit out the trick. He turned to his wife with a face full of betrayal. "How could you? I thought that you loooved me!" He said in mock pain.

"Was that radish? Who in the kingdom grows radish?" Arthur asked. "Wait, don't tell me. Alright Percival, you can come out now."

The giant of a man didn't come out from his hiding spot, so the king decided to investigate. What he wasn't expecting was to be brutally attacked by two men with chicken feathers- which they knew he was allergic to.

As he sneezed, they ran off to the safety of Gaius' chambers where all the pranksters had decided to meet once their pranks were successful.

~~~~~
Percival was the last prank of the day. He had hidden in the armory  behind the fighting dummies where he knew that Arthur would show up at anytime now.
Just on time, the king walked in the room and grabbed his sword. He walked out of the room and returned just moments later after discovering that all the dummies had been put away so that they didn't get rained on over night. He walked to the mass of dummies and grabbed one, not even noticing Percival.
Just as he was about to walk out of the room, Percival pulled a string that slammed the door shut, locking the king in the room with him. Arthur reached for his sword, only to remember that he had left it outside.
He looked around the room and saw nothing. Just as he was about to open the door, Percival leapt from his hiding spot.
"YARG!" He yelled loudly.
Arthur screaked loudly and fell to the floor, knocking his head on the edge of a weapons stand in the process.
Knowing that the king would be fine, Percival ran out of the room and bolted to Gaius' chambers where all the others were eating cake stolen from the kitchen by Gwen.
