Ok, trying something new. Hope you like it. Tell me if you liked it. Some cursing. Happy reading!

---Flashback---

Third POV

"Come over here Merlin! Look at this bunny I found!"  Elena shrieked. The young girl with fiery red hair and bright green eyes was already chasing after the grey ball of fluff.

"Coming, Elena! Don't let it get away!" The children were five years old. Merlin was two days older than Elena. His eyes were a bright blue. So bright that if you looked at them for too long, you would quite possibly go blind.

"I caught it, Merlin!"

"Don't hurt it! I'm coming!" as he ran to catch up with her, he fell over a hole. "Owwwwwww! That hurt!"

"What happened, Merlin? Are you ok? Stay there! I'm coming!" The young girl raced to her friend. When she arrived, she saw Merlin in a hole crying. "You big baby." She said fondly.

"'M not a baby!"

"Are too! Sit still. I'll get you out." she stood back and closed her eyes in concentration. As when she opened her eyes, there was gold instead of green for a second before they changed back to normal. Merlin was still in the air, this seemed to slip Elena's mind for a brief moment; as she began to walk away from the hole.

"Elena! You need to put me down!"

"Right, sorry." she sucked in a breath before gently putting Merlin on the ground. "Better now?"

"Yeah"

"Merlin! You have a cut on your neck! If your mom sees that, you won't be able to play for a whole week! Here, take this." She dramatically ripped a small portion of her long, blue dress off and gave it to her friend.

They were six now. They had gotten word that they were going to get some visitors, but they ignored it; as many children would. That would turn out to be the biggest mistake of their lives.

You see, they were having a competition on who could make the most beautiful illusion of smoke. At the moment, Elena was winning. She was making a horse gallop with a girl on its back. "You win! I'll never be as good as you with magic, Elena!." Merlin made a small pouty face before he burst out in a fit of laughter. Elena joined him a moment later once she realized that he wasn't crying. She didn't stop her animation though. In fact, she made it bigger.

"You there! Don't move. If you run, I will be forced to kill you." Came the booming voice of none other than Uther Pendragon. The children froze in fear. Who was this man and why was he threatning to kill them?

So, Elena stopped her animation and stood still. "You, little girl. You have been seen using magic in my kingdom. What do you have to say about that?"
