Hey guys!! I hope you guys like this chapter. I also made Merlin talk different since he is like five in the beginning. It might be a little annoying. Happy reading!

A young prince is traveling with his father to a village that has rumors of magic in it. His name is Arthur and he is seven.

In the village that the prince and the king are visiting another young boy is playing with his best friend. His name is Merlin and he is five.

Whatever brought these two boys together- call it fate, destiny or even God- it knew what it was doing.

Arthur's POV

I don't really want to be here. Father drug me along. Said I had to come. He said this would be a good thing for me to do. I ride in on Stella- my white horse- and my father on his brown horse. He doesn't have a name for his horse. Says it's no use being attached to something that will die before you. But that doesn't explain why he doesn't care about me. I think that I will live much longer than Father will. If I could name his horse, I would name him Neptune. I think Neptune is a fine name for a brown horse like my father's.

I look around the small village and see two boys running. Not from nothing, they're just running. They're laughing and it looks like they've been playing all day. I want to be able to do that. I want to have a friend. Maybe on this vacation I can be friends with them. They look a little younger than me, so we should get along great.

Somebody walks up to the children and talks to them. She looks kind. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She speaks so softly that I can't even hear her from where I am. She and the boys are only a couple yards away from me. The boys walk away and the woman introduces herself. Her name is Hunith. She lives in a small hut on the corner of town. She said that Father and I get the big hut in the center of town. Said that the village made it for us specially. Said that it took a long while to make it. I tell her thank you and she says you're very much welcome, Prince Arthur. Then she calls the boys over and they come running.

"What do you want, Ma? Will and I were playing Throw the Stone! I was winning this time too!" The little boy looked about five and he had black hair with blue eyes. As soon as he saw me, he looked like he had seen a ghost.

Merlin's POV

Ma told me that the King and prince were visiting for a little bit. I just hoped that the prince was nice to me. He didn't look it. He carried a sword and had a helmet. He had blonde hair and blue eyes. I could see his hair underneath his helmet, it stuck out from under the lid of the helmet that was too big for him. He looked like he would be fun to play with. I hope that the king will let him play with Will and I.

He look like he been taught how to act. He was quiet and looked like he was respectful. He also looked trapped. He looked like he never played a day in his life. He looked lonely and he looked like he needed a friend. I could be his friend if he weren't going to act like an entitled prat.

If he were nice to me and Will, I be nice to him. That's how I was raised. Be nice to me and I'll be nice to you. That's the way it goes in my village.
