These past few months had been crazy. I hadn't spent a single day at work, instead I worked from home. I couldn't surround myself with my men, the men that I worked alongside to build this plan of revenge. I hated myself. I hated the person I had become.

But it was too late for redemption, I knew that. I destroyed a family, a family whom I believed had caused pain and suffering. But I was the evil one and it was too late. I threw all I had away and for what, revenge.

There was nothing more to do. Lily hated me, her family hated me, the family that took me in without judgement. How could I have been so stupid. I hoped they would recover from this and move on with their lives. I wanted to find them and beg for forgiveness, but it wouldn't be enough. I had to cut all contact and let them rebuild their lives without me. I would be nothing more than a ghostly memory to them.

As for Lily my beautiful kitten, I had to let her go. Every single day she'd come into my head and haunt me relentlessly. Memories we shared replayed in my mind like a broken record, always replaying the happy times that were not fake. The times when I felt my whole world come together.

"It's your own damn fault" I growled to myself as I swiped all the papers off my desk.

As I stared at the picture of her on my desk, I picked it up and brought it closer to my face to examine her flawless features.

I was a fool. The stupidest one around. Why did I choose revenge over her.

Opening up my drawer, I carefully placed the delicate frame upturned in the empty desk and stared at it with no feeling inside me. All the feelings I had gained from being with her died the day that I threw her away.

I had to let go of her. It wasn't fair on anyone. I made a choice and now I had to follow it through. It was too late to change it.

"I hope you find someone deserving of your precious heart. Someone that will always put you first and treat you like a queen. I'm sorry for breaking your heart baby".

A shaky breath escaped my mouth as I closed the drawer and turned around fighting the urge to grab the picture and get my woman back. But it had been months. She could be anywhere. I just hoped wherever she is that she's safe and back with her family.

Refocusing my attention, I turned back to the security camera and focused back on the person I was very concerned about. Liam had been acting very strange at the office during my absence.

He was always disappearing off and making phone calls. I had always been nervous of him after I let James and his family walk off freely. I knew he was angry and annoyed as it was always our plan to kill James, but I wouldn't allow it. James had been through enough and with Isabella's aggressive cancer, I wasn't going to take away the rock of the family.

"What the hell are you up to Liam?".

I replayed the footage that had been sent in from last night and he seemed to be on a high rushing around the club sharing what seemed to be big news. The reactions of the other men seemed to match his.

"Dylan, it's me" I muttered into the phone wanting answers for the news that I wasn't informed of. According to the footage, Dylan had been told by Liam. I needed answers.

"Hey boss, what can I do for you?".

"Liam seemed very, excited at the club last night. It would seem that he had major news. What did he tell you?".

Dylan suddenly went silent and moved away from the other end of the phone.

"Oh it was just that Liam managed to sign a £1 million contract deal with a the Mexican mafia in your absence. They're bringing over a drugs delivery tonight".
