Lily

"Hey. I was starting to think my mum killed you".

Alexander smiled softly and grasped my chin tilting it up so I stared directly into his eyes.

"I'm too cute to kill" he winked before pecking my lips delicately.

Alexander wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me so we were walking hip by hip.

"Where's our little kicker?".

"So you're accepting her nickname now?" I responded back with my eyebrow raised up at him.

"Of course. She's my daughter. I'm going to teach her how to be a warrior and kick bad people's assess".

I scoffed in disbelief at his alpha male side.

"Who's to say her mother wouldn't do a good enough job".

I pulled away from Alexander and swished my hair back. I had become a lot more confident since Alexander had last seen me. Lyla was the fire inside of me that made me stronger. She gave me strength and helped me through the grief of losing Alexander.

"Damn kitten, I love this fiery side of you. I have to say, it's turning me on" Alexander growled lowly into my ear.

"Don't think your getting into my pants that easily Mr Powell. You're going to have to earn it".

Alexander's face shot down towards me and his eyes widened at my words.

He opened his mouth to talk, but before he could I walked around the corner and headed towards my dad who was making funny faces at Lyla.

James with little Lyla ^^

As I stopped before my dad, he looked up in horror before back down at Lyla who was staring straight up at him.

"I'm not ready to give her back. 5 more minutes, please".

I couldn't help but hold back a laugh at the immaturity of this man. The man that no matter what he did in his past was still the loving dad I always knew him to be. The man who'd steal cookies and then runaway in fear when mum started investigating. The man who'd stay up late with me helping me with an essay that was due in the very next day. The man who'd scam the scam callers until they hung up in frustration. He may have done bad things in his past, but the past is the past. And now we stay in the present and look to the future.

"Dad, give me back my baby".

Dad held onto her tightly and pouted up at me like child who had to share their favourite toy.

"Hey James".

Dad didn't stand a chance now. Both Lyla's parents stood before him with eyebrows raised.

"Oh, hi Alexander. How did it go with Isabella? She can be scary at times".

Alexander shook his head and wrapped his arm back around my waist.
