Lily's POV:
I inwardly cursed my body for reacting the way I didn't want to. My cheeks were burning an unflattering shade of red and felt like I was standing right beside a fire.
"Anyway jokes aside kitten, are you feeling any pain anywhere? You took quiet a fall and I need to know if you're having any other symptoms just so I can decide whether to take you to hospital or not".
I could feel my eyes sting at this stranger's sincerity. Matthew never cared for me like this. He'd tell me to suck it up and get over it.
The truth was that on the surface everything looked perfect. A successful girl from a wealthy loving family, married to her childhood sweetheart. But that couldn't be further from the truth. I was unhappy in my marriage to Matthew. He used to care for me when I was sick or show empathy when I hurt myself, but not recently. Perhaps that's when he started seeing other women.
"My heart hurts" I mumbled incredibly quietly hoping he wouldn't hear what I had said. But it was the truth. The pain tearing through my heart was greater than the pain searing through my head. I had never felt such pain like it. It was the pain of heartbreak.
"Hmm" he muttered quietly before pulling out a sterile wipe and stared me straight into my eyes.
"This is going to sting a little".
I nodded accepting my fate and straightened my head so my eyes were staring straight into his. Alexander cupped the back of my head with one hand keeping me in place and carefully cleaned the cut ridding it of any threat of infection.
As he worked away so professionally, I took my time to assess his facial features. I wondered if he looked just as good as he did when I was blind drunk. But if anything he looked even better. His eyes were the most beautiful colour that could hypnotise anyone into them. He had such strong facial features. His jawline was hidden under a neat beard but I knew it was defined to perfection.
"You're drooling kitten".
Alexander had pulled away with a small smirk on his lips and began rummaging through the green first aid box.
Rubbing the back of my hand against my mouth in paranoia, I cringed feeling a small wet sensation on my skin.
Way to go Lily.
"Don't flatter yourself, I was drooling over the thought of all the KFC you're going to buy me" I retorted back instantaneously hoping he would believe me. But the irritating smirk on his face said otherwise.
"Of course" he snickered whilst unwrapping a plaster and sizing it against my head ensuring it was big enough for the cut.
I felt my heart do little flips as he lent in closer carefully placing the plaster down gently on my cut. I could taste his minty breath on my lips as he lent closer to smooth down the plaster ensuring there were no creases.
"I have to ask you a serious question Alexander".
Alexander pulled away and stared at me with one eyebrow raised causing my cheeks to blush a little.
"Are you stalking me?". I raised my head up showing no signs of jokes. I was getting far too comfortable with this random stranger. It was strange how he happened to turn up after a random encounter. It couldn't be coincidence.
"Why? Are you liking it?".
Men like this infuriated me. You could never get a straight answer out of them and they thought they were the funniest people around. I wanted to smack that smug expression off his face.
I mean if it was a hot rich guy then, maybe. I've read too many books.
"No I do not like it". Alexander carefully placed his instruments back and closed the first aid box.
"Don't worry kitten. I'm not stalking you. Plus I have no time to spare to stalk a beautiful girl like yourself".
He smiled sincerely at me reassuring me that he was indeed telling the truth.
"Good to know. But just so you're aware, my father gave me intense self defence lessons so I could kick your ass with my eyes shut" I muttered emotionlessly showing no evidence of a joke.
Alexander's smile suddenly dropped as his eyes narrowed as if he had heard something he didn't like. But before I could ask if he was alright, the smile came back and nodded before reaching his arm out to me.
"I'm sure you could Kitten. Come, let me buy you some KFC".

Matthew's POV:
Rage. Uncontrollable rage was all I felt. Red clouded my vision watching him run after her before escorting her away with him. The way his slimy hand rested on her waist as he helped her walk made me want to smash one of the windows of a nearby car.
She definitely knew him. He was no stranger, they had met before. Why would he call her kitten if they were strangers.
Even though I had done wrong, she was still my wife. She belonged to me. She held my name. I fucked up big time cheating on my wife, but I was unhappy. I think we both were. Lily had tried to get through to me, but it was useless.
I felt my blood boil at the possibilities of Lily sleeping with a man other than me and the thought sickened me.
"Time to find out who you really are" I hissed under my breath whilst keeping my gaze focused on my wife and the mystery man.
In the midst of my anger fuelled thoughts, I felt my pocket buzz wildly and reached in and grabbed my phone.
Staring at the screen I sighed deeply before closing my eyes.
Quickie before work?
I need a good stress reliever.
