Declaration - Kim Hongjoong

Chapter 3

It was lunch break when Hongjoong looks around for his girlfriend. The cafe, the library, the hallway, but she wasnt there not even in their classroom.

"Come on man! She probably whore around somewhere"
The boy snorted next to Hongjoong who punch his arms in a joking way.

"Shut up Seonghwa. You're being mean to her"
His friends only shook their head at him.

Hongjoong always thought his friends
were only joking around. He thought that they only tease her and that they never physically bully her. He just didnt knew Hana was hurted physically too.

Since she dont have time or money to go the hospital, it was the best place for Hana that she visited the School Infirmary. She has been visiting it for so long that the nurse there already recognised Hana. The nurse always asked what brought Hana to the infirmary for the first few weeks that Hana finally told her in the end about her conditions at home and at the School.

The nurse, Kim Minjee treats Hana like a real sister she never had. She was furious when she found out about her conditions but she couldnt do anything when the Director of the School warned her not to take it the government because he did not want to ruin the School's reputation.

Minjee cried out when she sees Hana's broken wrist. Hana didnt shed a tears instead Minjee did. She felt so bad for the younger but cant even do anything about it.

"Who is it this time?"
Minjee only utters lowly since she didnt want to break down infront of the girl she thought the strongest of them all.

"My father. He was drunk"
Hana says the only necessary words she thinks as what happens with Mingi would only worsened Minjee's emotion again. Hana knows better than not to worry her more because the elder was undoubly very emotional and Hana hates making her cry because of her own state.

"I wish I could help you Hana-ah"
Minjee sniffles as she treats and caress Hana's arm.
"You'll need to treat this in a normal Hospital"
She added which makes Hana sigh. Hana tries to reason her condition but Minjee beats her to it again.

"I can pay for your charges lets just visit the hospital after school hmm? Please Hana, you need treatment or you wont be able to use your left hand again"
Hana was close to tears. She feels so much better after the condolences and cares she gets from the older woman. She only nodded in returns and utter a small gratitude to her which satisfies Minjee.

Hana didnt even eat her lunch since she went to treat her wrist. She didnt even take her breakfast as well because her step mother never makes anything for her or want her in the kitchen.
She was famish and her stomach were hurting a bit. Not to say about all the meals she skipped for the past months because either she couldnt afford it or her step sister stole them from her.

She went back to the classroom feeling strangely down than the other days because first, her wrist hurts like hell and it was pumping her. Second, the moment she enter the class, she found her boyfriend, with a girl on his lap that makes him very uncomfortable but wanted to act as a man to his friends because they called him a pussy.

Hana quickly lost her breath but tries to act normal. She wont let small things hurts her because breaking down and crying in front of them is the last thing she wanted to do.

When people started throwing their trash at her and tease her is when Hongjoong notice Hana was there. He immediately push the girl off and skip to Hana's table.

"I search everywhere for you during lunch"
Hongjoong only says, not even apologizing for the scene that just happened.

But Hana didnt want to point out and only answers.
"I was meeting with the teacher"

The fact that Hongjoong did not apologize wasnt what hurts the girl, it was the fact that the girl on his lap was the girl that makes Hana's life a living hell. It was Seo Eunhye, Hana's step sister that always flirt with her boyfriend, wanting to steal him away from her.

She didnt want to lose him
