Chapter 4: My Job

Zoe Arnolds PoV

I spent the night watching the pack with Morgan. I'm used to not getting a lot of  sleep. I just drink a lot of coffee hoping it keeps me awake. It doesn't really work though because as a werewolf caffeinated drinks don't really effect us. When it's early in the morning I mind link Morgan telling her, "I'm heading back to the pack house."
"Have fun at school."
I can hear the sarcasm in her voice. As werewolves that can control when we change we can mind link each other. The mind link only works while in wolf form. It is a way for us to communicate with each other. It helps when we are running around in wolf form and their might be a possible threat to the pack to be able to mind link instead of trying to growl or find a different way to say somethings wrong.

I run back to the pack house and quickly change back into my human form and get dressed. I run into the pack house and up to my room. I quickly undress, shower, get changed then run down the stairs. I grab my car keys then head out to my car. I left my backpack in my car so I don't have to worry about grabbing it. I drive back to town and stop at the Coffee store and bookstore. It's a bookstore that also sells coffee. Liam owns it and we all work at it. Some other people in town also work there. It was Crystals idea to have a store to give us all something to do when we aren't looking after the pack. It keeps us from going crazy. And also so people can see us. If they never see us then they would get suspicious. Crystal works in the store the most often but only when it's warm outside. She changed into her wolf really early this year. It's hard working at her store when she's not there, but we try our best to keep it running for her when she's gone. I walk into the store and order three coffees. I get a discount because I work at the store. I grab my coffees then get back into my car. I drink one of them while driving to school. The others I pour into my travel coffee mug. I pull into my spot at school and turn off the car. I grab my travel coffee mug and my backpack before stepping out of my car. I lock the car then put my car keys in my pocket. I head into the school and say hi to some of my friends. I start taking pictures of girls who match Mason's discription. He said he thinks the girl had brownish hair with blond highlights. I try my best to take pictures of their faces so I can show him. When the warning bell rings I quickly rush off to my first period. I have math then gym. The class I hate the most followed by one I enjoy. I enjoy gym because I'm very athletic. I'm super fit and in shape because I am a werewolf. I walk to my math class then sit down in my seat. I take out my math supplies and then drink some of my coffee. 

All of math I spend feeling super bored. I know math because I help run the store. I'm in charge of paying the workers with Crystal of course. When she's stuck in wolf form I'm in charge. Mason doesn't like me being in charge of paying the workers but I don't care what he thinks. I'm a senior so next year I'll be helping Crystal at the store more often. I know how to pay bills and all kinds of other math needed for it. Liam's also taught me about finances. It annoys Mason that I'm trusted with finances but Liam knows I'm better at math then Mason is.

After math I take more pictures of girls in the hallway as I head to the girls locker room. I put my phone in my backpack and then change into my gym clothes. I can't take pictures of girls during gym. I head out of the locker room and into gym. I head to my attendance spot and James walks over. He's one of Matthew Knight's friends. Ugh. What does does he want? James Wilson is the schools Playboy. He dates any girl until he finally has sex with them then he moves on to the next girl. He asks me "How are you doing?"
I sarcastically reply "Why do you want to know?"
"Come on, I'm just trying to be friendly, babe."
Yes, I did date him. That was my sophomore year and biggest mistake I ever made. I only dated him because I have a huge crush on his friend, Matthew. I hoped if Matthew saw me with James he would get jealous and ask me out. He never did. I ask him, "What do you want? Because if it were up to me I wouldn't be talking to you at all."
He sighs and tells me "You know the new student, Elizabeth Miller?"
"What about her?"
"Isn't she in your photography and art class?"
"Maybe. I don't really care about the other students. I'm busy working."
"I want you to put in a good word for me. You know, get her interested in me."
"Why should I help you?"
"If you don't then I'll send the whole school pictures of us. You know, some pictures you don't want getting out."
He smirks as he walks over to his attendance line. What pictures is he talking about? The rest of gym I'm trying to figure out his threat. I can't remember taking any pictures that I wouldn't want getting out. Why should I care about those pictures getting out? Whatever it might be I can always turn them into the principal or the police and get him in trouble.
