Chapter 18: House Tour Part 2

Elizabeth Miller's PoV

Morgan tells us she's going to give us a house tour. I'm excited to see more of the house before I have to go back home. Zoe left and I know I have to leave soon too. I check my phone and make sure I don't have any messages or missed calls. My mom texted telling me to be home for dinner. That's all I have. Matthew also checks his phone. He asks "Can I make a call real quick?"
Morgan says "Sure. I'll turn the music player off and TV's."
She runs around turning it off then we stay quiet.

Matthew Knight's PoV

I call Dylan because he's been spamming me. He picks up on the first call. He yells "Bro! I've been calling you all afternoon!"
I respond "I was sleeping! What do you want?"
"Still having a bad hangover?"
"Considering how I rarely ever drink, yeah. What do you want?"
"There's another party tonight. Wanna go? I know you don't have anything else to do. Take some meds if your head is still killing you."
"No, I'm good. I'll stay home and sleep."
"Dude, you don't want to miss this party."
"Why not?"
"Because James and Tom will be there."
"I don't want to deal with them right now."
"Dude, you can show them how you don't care about them. You're over them."
"No, I'm good."
"If you don't go, I'll come over to your house and drag you along."
I sigh and ask "Why can't you take a no?"
"Because it's the most important party to ever be at. You show up tonight and you will be the most popular kid in school. Everyone will be obsessed with you."
"I won't be there very long."
"Dude! What's wrong with you? You never miss a good party!"
"I'm just not really into parties right now."
"Is your dad home again?"
"No."
"Then why don't you want to party?"
"I told you I'll go for a little while. Why can't you just take that answer?"
"Alright I'll pick you up later. You obviously need some more sleep right now."

Elizabeth Miller's PoV

I ask Matthew "What was that about?"
He sighs and tells me "That was Dylan. He's been spam calling and texting me all day."
"About what?"
"Well...he wants me to go to a party. He said James and Tom would be there."
Morgan asks "Who are they?"
I tell her "They used to be friends with Matthew. They don't get along anymore."
Morgan looks at us and tells us "You can't go!"
We both look at her confused. Matthew asks "Why not? I won't be there very long."
"You don't understand! You shouldn't go!"
"Why not?"
"If you want to be a part of the pack you have to stop being as social. And..."
"And what?"
"You see Mason?"
We both nod our heads. She continues, "If you get too angry or upset you can change. If you do you would reveal our secret in front of everyone. Not that I don't believe you can keep control of yourself but you're still new to this..."
Matthew asks her "It's easier for a newbie to lose control?"
She nods her head. He tells her "This is the last party I'll go to. I'll stop being as social after this. But I have to go to make Dylan happy. The only way to not go is if my dad comes home or I tell him I'm a wolf. My dad isn't home and I'm not going to tell him I'm a wolf...what if...you guys came with me?"
Morgan seems surprised. She asks "To a party?"
I ask him "Why can't you tell Dylan no?"
"Because he's been my best friend for a long time. I'll tell him tonight that I'm done going to parties and being popular. He'll understand."
We look towards Mason and he's gone. We hear him while he's coming down the stairs tell us "It's risky. If you get angry you'll change. Any anger at all will make you change. I'm more experienced so it's harder to make me change. Newbies change from anger way too easily. If Liam was here he would tell you no."
Matthew tells him "Liam isn't here."
"I'm in charge while he's gone. This is a stupid idea."
Mason comes down the stairs and they have a staring contest. Mason looks so intimidating. Morgan looks down and I look away from him. Eventually Mason tells him "We will go and we will leave when I tell you to. No arguing. I mean it."
Matthew tells him "I don't plan on staying too long. Just show up for a little while then leave."
Eventually Mason comes over to us and we look at him. He doesn't look intimidating anymore. He sits down on the couch and turns the TV on. He starts watching the news. Morgan looks at us and tells us "Now the tour."
She leads us to the front door. She tells us "This is obviously our front door. And you head over there and that's our living area. The place where everyone usually gathers together to chat or have fun. We also have awesome video game competitions. Over here is the kitchen."
We walk over to the kitchen. She tells us "You already saw most of it. It's a big kitchen designed to fit all of us. This way..."
We follow her into the next room. She turns a light on and it reveals a huge dining area. She tells us "This is where we all gather to eat meals together. We don't really use it anymore because there's only a couple of us that live here. We mainly use our breakfast bar."
She turns the light off and we follow her. She opens the door and turns the lights on. We walk around the garage with her. She tells us "This is our garage. All the cars here are owned by various pack members. This car here is mine. It's not cheap, but not super expensive. We all like different cars. The car right there...is Mason's car...that one is Crystal's...this one is Liam's...and you don't get to see Zoe's car. There's still space for more cars in here."
I ask her "Who's cars are the others? And the motorcycles?"
She looks sad when she tells us "Most of them belong to people stuck in wolf form forever. A couple of them belong to members who left us there cars and bikes. We take turns driving all the cars and motorcycles to make sure they work. Mason is the only one willing to drive the motorcycles."
We head back to the door and she turns off the lights. We walk down a hallway and she tells us "Guest bathrooms...library...oh! This is Liam's office."
We step inside and she turns the light on. It has his desk, chair, bookshelves, and file cabinets. After looking around she turns the light off and we continue down the hallway. She tells us "This is our laundry room. We do all the laundry in here. It was made to support a lot more of us. We still take turns using all the washers and driers to make sure they work. And I forgot to mention but we have giant freezers in the garage. They were used to store food when we had a full house. But now we can use it to store food for the pack while they are in the basement. I think Liam kept the freezers for that reason."
We walk down the hallway and she shows us another bathroom and two more offices. They are filled with desks and chairs. She explains "We use these two offices as study rooms. Everyone was studying for online college or they were helping home school me."
We walk out to the living area and she tells us "You saw the basement is empty. We have it in case someone is learning how to control themselves. It's a safe place to practice and not hurt others. It also works to keep the pack safe when they are injured. We have a door leading inside the basement from outside that we hide with branches on it. It has a code in case someone gets onto our property and tries to open it. It's also a heavy door because it has to withstand a wolf's strength. Now we can go upstairs. And you don't know but there's four floors. One being the basement. Then the main floor. And two floors above that."
We head upstairs and stop at the first bedroom. Morgan explains who slept in which room. The rooms all have different themes. Some are decorated sports like and guys interests. Others are very girly. Then there's Mason's room covered with photographs. Crystals room is very basic. It's like something to advertise to buy that room design. The bathrooms are various sizes but have the same basic design colors. The last bedroom we get to is Morgan's room. It looks slightly girly but still good colors. There's two beds in here and a desk. She also has a bathroom attached to it. Some bedrooms have a bathroom attached. Others don't or there's two bedrooms connected to a bathroom. She walks down a hallway and tells us "you open this and slide your laundry down. It goes to the laundry room. We take turns doing laundry. We do each other's laundry and it doesn't bother us. We share responsibilities of keeping the house clean, cooking, laundry, and other chores. It doesn't bother us. We also work at the bookstore and coffee store."
We go into a empty storage room. It has some boxes. She winks at us then touches the wall. A ladder falls out of the ceiling. That scared me. It's also really cool. We go up the ladder and then it retreacts back up. The hole disappears too. She tells us "This is our gym and hang out area. I'll show you. We also have bathrooms up here. There's no windows which makes the house look like we have only two floors. We didn't build the house. Liam bought it from a rich man who was dying and wanted to sell it. He showed us the secret floor."
We walk around and see all of the workout equipment. We see different doors and we can see some of them lead into bathrooms. We see a double set of doors at the end. Morgan walks us over to it and tells us "This is a awesome room."
She opens the doors and turns the lights on. It's filled with arcade games, poll table, and other games. There's also a massive screen like a movie theater filled with big theater chairs. Both our mouths drop open when we see that. She smiles and tells us "This is our weekend hang out area. It was always filled with laughter and fun. Now that there's only a few of us...and hunter problems...we are out watching over the pack more then we are...having fun."
We walk around looking at everything and then she turns the lights off and closes the door. She presses a button and the floor opens and the ladder moves down. When we are all off the ladder moves back up and the ceiling closes. We walk out of the storage room and she closes the door. We head downstairs to Mason. Mason asks "When do we have to go to the party?"
Matthew pulls his phone out and tells us "We have an hour. You should all pick something better to wear."
Mason turns the TV off and gets up. He tells us "I'll call Zoe and see if she can come. You should call your friend and tell him you can get yourself to the party."
He turns to me and tells me "You should probably drive separately in your own car so you can go home afterwards."
I nod my head and Morgan asks "What do we wear?"
Matthew tells her "Something nice. Not too crazy. Just more dressed up then casual wear."
Morgan grabs my hand and drags me upstairs. We go into her room and she closes the door. She picks out our outfits and we start getting ready.
