The first twenty-four hours after giving Mason the medicine we are all watching over him. It's hard because we have a lot more wolves to take care of now and dealing with poison. Mason is our leader while Liam is gone but now he's stuck in wolf form too while he heals. The next person in charge after Mason is Morgan. And she doesn't know what to do. She's so worried about Mason that she's not thinking clearly. But I know I'm not any better than she is. I've been around for a year and I chose to bite Matthew, the social butterfly. He promises he can change but I don't know if I can. I feel like I only really bit him because I have a crush on him. I have for a long time. And now he's obsessed with Elizabeth. What did I really ever see in him? I'm gonna move on from my crush on him. He likes Elizabeth and she likes him. I feel bad for Morgan because we have to go to high school leaving her to watch over Mason and the pack on her own.

It's Monday Morning and I'm exhausted after staying up most of the night to watch Mason. Matthew had to go home because his dad is back in town. Elizabeth can't come over because her father won't let her leave the house without one of her parents unless she is going to school. My parents don't care that I'm not home. I just have to text them when I'm staying over so they don't worry. We had the day off of school today so I don't have to worry about skipping school so that's good.

I go to the kitchen and grab the bags out of the freezer. It's filled with cut up meat for the wolves. We have all the wolves downstairs. It's very crowded down there but when we let them move around we haven't heard them fighting. It's like they all know they are in danger. They all want to survive, not die. I pour the meat out of the bags and into bowls. The temperature in the house is really cold to make the wolves all sleep. It's warm on the main floor because of all our space heaters. I go over to the basement door and set the bowls down on the ground. I slowly move the couch out of the way and then unlock the door. I dump the bowls into the basement then close and lock the doors. I put the bowls in the sink then walk back to the basement door and put the couch back in front of the door. I yawn because I'm tired and then go wash the bowls. I rinse them out then put them in the dishwasher. I walk over to one of the other couches and sit down. Mason is laying on the ground sleeping. I turn the TV on and I look towards the stairs when I hear Morgan coming down. I quickly get up and go to the thermostat. I forgot to turn up the heat to let the wolves eat. We can both hear the wolves starting to move around. After a minute there's a lot of noise downstairs and we both know they are eating. We are both surprised when we see Mason slowly stand up in wolf form. He looks around very alert. Morgan walks over to him and tells him "I can't believe you're actually standing."
He looks at her and I can tell he wants to tell her something but he can't. I tell Morgan "You can change into wolf form and talk with him."
She looks at me unsure. I'm about to continue encouraging her when we hear cars pulling up. We start panicking. We make sure the tv Volume is very loud, music player is also loud, and the temperature is very cold to cover the wolves noises from in the basement. Mason slowly moves so he's hiding. There's wolves sleeping all over the house here. We can't get them all to move. I quickly walk over to the door and then the doorbell rings. Morgan gets the wild pack up here to wake up and start moving into another room so the visitors can't see them.

I open the door a crack and see the police chief and a few officers standing there. I smile and politely ask them "What can I do for you?"
The chief tells me "The hunters came to me wanting permission to go into the boundary of the private property if they kill wolves so you don't have to take care of dead bodies."
I tell him "It's private property. We can take care of dead bodies if there are any dead bodies in the area. No one is allowed to come into our private property."
"We are aware of that which is why we came to see if you would allow them if it was to get the dead wolves."
"How would they know the wolves are dead? And they would have to come deep into our property too."
"Why are you barely having the door open? Are you hiding something?"
"Our thermostat isn't really working. I'm trying not to let the cold air bother you."
"It wouldn't bother us. It's very hot out here but thanks for thinking about us."
"You don't want to feel how cold it is in here. Some areas of the house is hot, others cold."
"It's really hot out here so we wouldn't mind. Thanks for worrying about us."
There's a moment of awkward silence then he asks "Is Liam home?"
"Not yet."
"When is he coming back?"
"We aren't really sure."
"What about Mason?"
"Also out of town."
"When is he coming back?"
"It should be really soon, why?"
"So we can talk with one of the two owners to fix the problem with the hunters."
"We can call you when he gets back."
"That will work. Sorry to bother you and take you away from what you were doing."
"It's alright. It was nice talking with you."
They thank me then walk back into there cars and leave. That was close. After closing the door I look over to Morgan. I ask "Are you going to talk to Mason in wolf form now?"
She looks at me and says "I don't know. I have a bad feeling that something is going to happen but I'm not sure what that is."
Mason slowly walks to where I can see him. I ask him "Why are you walking around? Shouldn't you be taking it easy so you can heal?"
He whimpers some so I walk over to him. I don't know what he's saying but I'm thinking it has to do with his wound. I look at the wound and it's mostly healed so why is he whimpering? I look over to Morgan and she sighs. She tells me "Fine, I'll change into my wolf form to talk with him."
She changes into wolf form and walks over to Mason. They are talking but I don't what it is about. I walk around the house cleaning and making sure everything's alright.
