Chapter 39: Alpha Mason

Morgan Roger's PoV

I can tell Mason is trying to process being called Alpha by Liam. It means he's officially Alpha now. He probably said he's going to go find Crystal so he can process all of this. Also to think about what Matthew's blood could so to Crystal. He does like her and he learned she likes him. I'm surprised when Mason walks back into the office with Crystal's wolf following him. She sits down in the middle of the office and sticks her tongue out. That's just like Mason does. How did he get her to come? It is pretty funny seeing Mason standing there in a towel. Kyle gets it all set up and motions Matthew over. Matthew steps over and rolls his sleeve up. He doesn't seem to care. Kyle sticks the tube into Matthew's arm and then finds a spot in Crystals wolf. I go wrap a blanket around her. Matthew's blood slowly starts going into her. Her wolf starts squirming around so Mason goes over and starts petting her. Her soft spot is on her head. It immediately calms her down. She stops squirming. Mason definitely knows Crystal the best. We know each other's soft spots but Mason knows Crystal better. We wait a couple minutes and then Crystals wolf starts shaking. She's going to change. She starts moving all over the place. Mason holds her so she's not moving all over the place. They don't want her to pull the tube out. Zoe asks "How are you doing Matthew?"
He shrugs and tells us "I'm fine."
I tell him "You should sit down. You're looking kind of pale."
Matthew tells me "I'm fine."
Mason tells him "Sit down. That's an order."
Kyle smirks and tells Mason "congrats on your first order as Alpha."
Matthew sits down and then after he does Crystal changes into Human form. She looks surprised. She asks "How am I?"
Mason asks "Back?"
She asks "Is winter over?"
Mason tells her "It's not. Our newbie, Matthew has different blood that can help us. His blood was able to help you change back to Human form. I don't know if you'll still change back into a wolf or not."
Crystal smiles and says "I'm not in any pain."
She looks over and says "It's good to see you again Morgan."
I smile and tell her "You too."
She looks over to Kyle and Julia, then asks "What are you guys doing here?"
Kyle tells her "That's a story Alpha Mason will have to explain."
She looks over to Mason and he tells her "It's a long story."
She asks "Can I stop getting Matthew's blood now?"
Kyle tells her "I'm not sure. I don't know how much blood is needed to help you?"
She shrugs and tells us "I don't care. I'm just...happy that I'm back. Even if it is only for a short time."
The office door opens and we all look so see Elizabeth. She tells us "The hunters are coming. With the police and mayor. We don't have much time."
I ask her "How's the fence?"
"Surprisingly it's mostly done. But they could use the extra help. But you need to get the wolves somewhere that's hidden."
Kyle tells us "Julia and I will go help build the fence. Matthew, can you come help us too?"
Matthew nods in agreement. Kyle tells us "The rest of you get the pack somewhere hidden."
Kyle takes the tube out of Matthew and Crystals arms. Kyle, Julia, and Matthew quickly run off to go help build the fence. We all look over to Mason for help. He tells us "Turn down the temperature. Get as many as possible into the basement. The rest...get them upstairs. Put them in the bathrooms if you can. If you can't then... we'll have to use the bedrooms. Hopefully they won't destroy anything. Crystal and I will get clothes on real quick then help you guys. If the wolves get too agressive then I'll deal with them. Just back away from them and find other wolves that are more willing to move."
We all agree and quickly start moving. I turn off all the space heaters while Zoe and Elizabeth go to start taking care of the wolves. Mason and Crystal run to go get clothes on. After I turn off the space heaters I rush out and into the main room. Zoe changed the temperature so the wolves are all waking up and moving. We start leading the wolves into the basement. I get some meat from the freezer and throw it down the stairs. That gets more wolves down there. Some wolves, which I can tell are wild wolves, start growling at us. Elizabeth is the closest to them. I tell her "Back away slowly."
She slowly backs away from them. Zoe asks "How are we gonna get them downstairs?"
I go look and the basement is very full of wolves. Some are starting to head upstairs. I close the door and tell them "The rest have to go upstairs."
I lock the basement door and turn back towards the wolves. Crystal starts going down the stairs fully dressed but stops when some of the wolves turn towards her and start growling. Mason comes behind her and stops when he hears them. He looks at us to make sure we didn't get hurt. Then he takes his shirt off and pants. After that he jumps over the stairway railing and changes into wolf form. That gets the wolves attention. They turn towards him and start growling. Crystal grabs his clothes then runs back upstairs. Mason gets in a position to show his superiority over them. He gets ready and then he growls. It's very loud and it shows his dominance. The wild wolves stop growling and all lay down. He stops growling and then looks at them. He runs to the stairs and then up then. The wolves all get up off the ground then run after him. We look around the main floor but we don't see any more wolves. He got them all. Zoe adjusts the temperature again to make the wolves fall asleep. Mason comes back down fully dressed with Crystal. They seem happy together. The five of us quickly clean up anything that might look suspicious and clean anything that the wolves might have gotten to. After we've cleaned up the house we all head outside. Everyone's gathered together on the driveway. Kyle tells us "We just finished the fence."
It looks pretty dark outside but the fence is done. I guess it's a good thing we've been building the fence throughout the week and then today we had most of our pack here to help. They are gonna be here until Monday so I guess we have plenty of time to catch up. David tells us "We heard that growl. That was impressive."
Kyle tells them "We force shifted Liam."
They all look at us in shock. I tell them "Liam called Mason Alpha."
Before they can say anything else a lot of cars pull up. Elizabeth goes inside because she doesn't want her dad to see her here. The rest of our pack all stop goofing and and look very serious. The cars all stop and police officers, hunters, the mayor, and the mayor's security all get out. The mayor asks "Where's the owner?"
Mason steps forward and tells them "I am. What can I do for you?"
The mayor looks around and tells us "I'm impressed. You built a fence around the property. In less then a week too."
Elizabeth's father says "I got the papers."
Mason looks at him and tells him "We build a fence around our property. You are not allowed to be here. The police and mayor are allowed but others aren't. You can't go hunting in our property now."
The mayor says "Let's calm down and get along. Mason is right though. How can you get into there property when they have a fence built around it? The wolves can't jump over this."
Zoe tells them "You aren't allowed to hunt wolves anymore."
The mayor asks "Why is that?"
She asks "Permission to show you?"
The mayor nods so she walks over to him. He looks at the hunters and tells them "Wolves are a endangered species now. If you hunt them you will get fined. Your job here is done. Leave these people alone and don't go after the wolves."
The hunters don't look happy. Elizabeth's dad asks "Since when have wolves been endangered?"
The mayor tells him "Look at this then."
Her father walks over and looks at Zoe's phone. He does not look happy. The chief of police says "Sorry to bother you, Mason. Say hi to Liam for me."
Mason tells him "I will."
The mayor tells him "Have fun with your party. We'll leave you alone now."
Mason smiles and tells the mayor "They are our friends. They came here from out of town for the weekend."
The mayor smiles and tells us "Have fun. Don't do anything too crazy."
Everyone laughs at that. They all get back into there cars and leave. When they are all gone all of us relax. They all look at Mason and Jimmy asks "How does it feel to be the Alpha now?"
Mason tells us "I'm still getting used to it."
I tell them "We should do something to celebrate."
Mason asks "Like what?"
Charles smiles and tells us "We know how to throw a party."
Mason asks "Really? Considering how none of us can get drunk."
"Don't worry. We got other ways."
Julia asks "What about the wolves? Should we let them out? Let them wander around the private property? Or go out into the woods?"
Mason tells them "I'm not sure. Do we have gates to let them out? How do we know our wolves like Liam and the others stuck forever won't leave our property for good."
I tell them "We start by releasing some of them. I think all of the wolves upstairs are all wild wolves. We let them go run off. If we let all of them out at once people will get suspicious. By releasing some of them at a time it makes it harder for all the wolves to go run off for good."
Mason tells me "That's a good idea."
We are about to go inside but then Matthew's phone rings. He takes it out and asks "Hello? When?"
What's going on? What happened?
