Quinn reached Daniel's house a couple minutes later. She knocked several times on his front door.
"Hello?" It was Daniel's mom.
"Sorry. I'm looking for Daniel." Quinn smiled.
"He's going on a trip with his friends. You might be able to catch him at the bus station. Are you the girl he keeps talking about? Phoenix?" Daniel's mother asked.
"No. You could say I'm out of his league." Quinn tried to smile.
"Aw, how sweet." Daniel's mom grinned.
Quinn walked away. "Yeah, I meant that I'm better than him." Quinn rolled her eyes, and headed to the bus station.
Daniel's mother was right. Daniel was sitting on a bench at the bus station ready to leave.
"Where do you think you're going?" Quinn questioned.
"Away. Phoenix is mad at me, I'm mad at her, and everyone here hates me." Daniel told Quinn.
"That's not true. Not everyone here hates you." Quinn's voice got high.
"You hate me." Daniel pointed out.
"That's different. Phoenix is not mad at you. In fact, she's worried about you. You're not treating her right." Quinn sat down.
"What do you mean? I was being perfectly fine." Daniel argued.
"Then why aren't you with her right now? She was trying to do a nice thing by gathering us all to try and help you. But you blew her off as if she was doing this to you on purpose. Phoenix will be the best thing that will ever happen to you, and she'll keep coming back. You're breaking her heart. So come back, and apologize." Quinn demanded.
"Why?" Daniel asked.
"Because she might have done something wrong, but you did something far worse." Quinn explained.
"Oh yeah? What's that?" Daniel said.
"You blew her off. You made her worried. Which caused her to run away. No one has seen her. So great job. Boyfriend of the year." Quinn walked away.
Daniel sat there. "Did she really run away?" He said to himself. "No, Phoenix wouldn't do that. Why hasn't she tried to call me?" He asked himself. "Maybe because I was a jerk. What am I doing? I need to go and find her. Maybe Quinn was right. I have to apologize. But I'm not telling Quinn that she was right."
Daniel got off the bench and headed to the one place he knew Phoenix would be.
Daniel walked into the record store about half an hour later. He went straight to the back where the employee room was.
"Daniel! Nice to see you here. What are you looking for?" a teenager asked. He was tall and skinny, and had purple hair with brown streaks. He had glasses, and was behind a counter.
"Hey Billy. I'm not looking for something. I'm looking for someone." Daniel tensed. Billy was one of the most hated people at Wonderlust Theater.
"Oh Phoenix I'm assuming. She came in earlier." Billy leaned over the counter.
"Alright, well is she still here?" Daniel asked.
"I don't know. Is she?" Billy raised his eyebrows.
"This is serious! She might be missing!" Daniel shouted.
"Dan?" Phoenix stepped out from behind a shelf of records.
"Phoenix are you okay?" Daniel questioned. He ran up to her. "I'm sorry I was such a jerk. I didn't realize that you were trying to do a nice thing for me, and I ruined what we had. I'm so sorry." Daniel apologized.
"Daniel, it's okay. I'm so sorry about everything. I should've considered what you would have wanted." Phoenix told Daniel.
"Don't apologize for something that you did." Daniel assured Phoenix.
"But I'm so sorry, and I didn't know how to tell you. I'm so scared of losing you." Phoenix smiled.
"It's okay. We're both okay. Let's go and tell everyone that you're okay. Everyone is seriously worried about you." Daniel explained.
"Okay." Phoenix and Daniel walked outside of the record store and Daniel stopped Phoenix.
"What?" Phoenix asked.
"I've been wanting to do this for a long time. We've come a long way, and now is the time." Daniel came close.
"Whoa, what's happening?" Phoenix questioned.
Daniel leaned in and kissed Phoenix. Phoenix didn't pull away. Billy from the record store gawked at the two of them.
"Look Alice. They look happy." Billy gestured at the two of them to another worker named Alice.
"I will destroy their happiness." Alice clenched her fists.
Daniel and Phoenix just stood there smiling at each other. Daniel eventually led Phoenix away to Wonderlust Restaurant.
