No one had heard from Phoenix that day. Eric was the first one to realize that Phoenix probably wasn't coming to Wonderlust Restaurant anytime soon.
"Guys, come on. Let's just go. I don't want to wait here any longer." Eric sighed.
"Wait. Just let me call her one more time." Quinn went out of the booth and called Phoenix outside for better service.
"Hey, have you told Quinn yet?" Tanner questioned.
"No. There hasn't really been a good time." Eric raised his eyebrows.
"Eric, there's probably never going to be a good time. With all that's going on in Wonderlust lately." Crystal sighed.
"Wait, what do you mean? Wonderlust isn't falling apart or anything." Kris laughed.
"Oh, you guys haven't heard? Mr. Rembarc is closing down everything. He wants no creative control over anything. Including the theater." Crystal whispered.
"No one tell Quinn. She may have not lived here her whole life but this will break her." Eric whispered as Quinn came back.
"Why does everyone look so sad?" Quinn asked.
"Can I talk to you? Come on, outside." Eric led Quinn outside. He leaned over his shoulder and mouthed, "Wish me luck."
Quinn and Eric sat on a bench. "Is everything okay?" Quinn asked.
"Do you want the good or bad news first?" Eric questioned.
"Good." Quinn grinned.
"I know that we've had a "fling". I guess that's what you would call it. I want to make things official." Eric smiled widely.
"What? Oh my gosh! Yes! Well, duh. Yes." Quinn hugged Eric tightly.
"Great. That's... phew, that's great." A huge weight lifted off of Eric's chest.
"Yay! Oh, what's the bad news?" Quinn grasped the bottom of the bench.
"Nothing. It's not important." Eric brushed it off.
"Okay. Do you wanna go back inside?" Quinn pointed to the Wonderlust Restaurant.
"Nah. I have a feeling it will start to clear out soon. I have something else for us to do." Eric grabbed Quinn by the hand and took her to his car.
"Ooh, where are we going?" Quinn went around to the other side of the car.
"Somewhere special. You'll see." Eric climbed into the driver seat.
Eric and Quinn drove for about an hour until Quinn got impatient. "Can I please know where I'm going?" Quinn asked.
"We're almost there. Don't worry, it'll all be worth it." Eric laughed as he rounded the corner.
Quinn was going through all the possibilities of where they could be going. The park? That's where they first met. The school parking lot? That's where they had their first kiss. Quinn knew that Eric was a romantic, but where could he be taking her?
Eric parked in front of a beautiful house. It had a flower garden, and it was a cream colored house. Quinn recognized it right away.
"This is your house." Quinn said.
"Yes. It is. Come on. I have something for you in the backyard." Eric ran around the house and Quinn followed.
"What is going on?" She mumbled.
Eric gestured to a picnic on his back porch. Quinn's mouth dropped. It was beautiful. "Just like our first date." Eric explained.
"Just like it." Quinn agreed.
Quinn's phone rang. "Take it." Eric urged. "I have to set up some things anyways."
"Hello?" Quinn answered.
"Quinn, it's Mimi." Mimi said hurriedly.
"What's wrong?" Quinn asked.
"It's Phoenix. No one has seen her. Like nobody. Not even her mom." Mimi rushed.
"Oh god. Um, Eric and I will see what we can do." Quinn scratched her head.
"Oh, you're with Eric?" Mimi questioned.
"Yeah, why?" Quinn asked.
"Ooh la la." Mimi giggled.
"Shut up." Quinn hung up.
"Who was that? Is everything okay?" Eric walked up to Quinn. He could sense her anxiety.
"Yeah. Just Phoenix. Everyone's looking for her." Quinn shook her head.
"We'll go look for her after I give you something." Eric walked back to the picnic basket.
"Another thing? This is already enough." Quinn laughed.
"Listen Quinn, you're perfect." Eric ignored Quinn's comment. "I know that we belong together. One day I know that you will walk down that isle and you'll be walking to me. I want to seal that in. I'm not proposing or anything. I just want to give you this." Eric held out a ring with a sapphire in the middle.
"Oh my god. It's beautiful Eric." Quinn gazed at the ring.
"Glad you like it." Eric slipped it on her finger. "It's a promise ring. I promise to be there always, and in a couple years, I promise to say I do."
"I promise that too. And more. I promise to make you bagels in the morning just how you like them." Quinn laughed.
"Come on. Let's go look for Phoenix." Eric grabbed Quinn's hand and they went back to the car.
