One Year Later

One year later, everyone in Wonderlust was as happy as could be. People had made peace with the deaths that had occurred, and everyone was happy.

Phoenix had organized a memorial service for her mother. She knew that Sasha would have wanted all of Wonderlust there, so she invited ten people. Quinn, Eric, Mimi, Kris, Tanner, Crystal, Rebecca, Ella, Ram, and herself. Her and Ram were going strong, and they were very happy together.

Kris and Crystal had been going strong all through that year, and they were very happy. It was the happiest that Phoenix, Quinn, and Mimi had ever seen her. She had joined the meme club at school, and had become president of the club. Everyone was very proud of her for that.

Mimi got a side job at a Pole Dancing Instructor. As much as everyone found it confusing, she loved it. Her and Tanner had been on and off because Mimi was too busy pole dancing to be with him. It's a long story.

Quinn had her baby! It was a girl and they named it Mikayla. Sasha was going to name Phoenix Mikayla, but changed the name at the last minute because she didn't like it. Well, Quinn and Eric likes the name. Eric had given Quinn a promise ring, and when they turned twenty, they would get married. Life was peaceful in their world.

Alice and Billy had been rotting in a cell for the past year, and they were eventually going to starve to death because they were being fed less and less every day.

Let's check in on everyone's lives.

"Phoenix! Eric! Hello?" Quinn called out. Quinn had moved in with Eric and his mom and dad.

"Yeah, what's up?" Eric poked his head in the door.

"I can't find any clothes for Mikayla." Quinn face palmed.

"Well, they've got to be around here somewhere." Eric rummaged around the room. Under a box of diapers and a dozen stuffed animals, Eric found an outfit spread out on the floor.

"Thank you. What would I do without you?" Quinn smiled.

"Well..." Eric started to think.

"Don't answer that." Quinn warned.

There was a knock on Quinn's door.

"Come on in!" Quinn called out.

"Hey, we are going to be seriously late if we don't get a move on." Phoenix stepped into the room. "Whoa. What battle was fought in here?"

"Very funny Phoenix." Quinn rolled her eyes.

"But, she's right. We need to go. Now." Eric warned.

"I guess. I can't get another detention for being late. My parents would kill me." Quinn finished dressing Mikayla.

She was wearing a white t-shirt with a denim skirt.

"Why did you put that on her?" Eric asked.

"We match!" Quinn gestured to her own outfit.

"Yeah, but she's not the one wearing heels." Phoenix pointed out.

"Whatever. Bye Mikayla. You be good to daddy's mommy." Quinn places Mikayla in a crib that was in the center of the room.

"Daddy?" Phoenix raised her eyebrows.

"Well, she could speak any day now if she's my daughter, but if she's more Eric, then she'll be very slow." Quinn stifled a laugh.

"Got it." Phoenix nodded.

They walked out of the house signaling to Eric's mother that they were leaving. Eric's mom didn't respect Quinn. Maybe because she had a baby with her son, but either way, she could be nicer.

"Hey guys!" Mimi shouted from the other side of the street.

"Smile and nod, smile and nod." Quinn told herself.

"Hi Mimi!" Phoenix yelled back. "Ugh, why did I do that?"

"Because you love to accept everyone and make everyone feel welcome." Quinn rolled her eyes.

Kris and Crystal were coming up to them too. Mimi was walking with Tanner. They had been together for a week since the last time they broke up.

"Where's Ram?" Kris asked when she got close enough.

"Sick." Phoenix replied.

"That's nice. Now let's talk about me." Mimi launched into a speech about her day at work yesterday, and how good she was getting.

Quinn was looking at her shoes the entire time. She stumbled a couple times because she was sleep deprived and not looking in front of her, but she was standing right next to Eric, so she didn't mind.

Phoenix was listening intently. At least it looked like she was. In her head she was probably thinking about what to cosplay next. It was her new favorite thing to do other than be with her friends.

Eric was busy watching Quinn to make sure she didn't fall. He tried to tell her not to wear heels to school.

Everyone else was making it obvious that they weren't listening whether it was purposefully or accidentally.

"And that was how it went yesterday." Mimi finished.

"Great!" Phoenix cheered.

"Good, it's over." Quinn looked up.

"Did you not brush your hair?" Mimi asked Quinn.

"UGH! I forgot." Quinn pulled a red hairbrush out of her backpack and brushed through her hair until she was satisfied. She fished a rubber band out of the front of her backpack, and braided a strand of her hair. She tied it in a weird way, and then she was done.

"How do you do that?" Eric asked.

"Practice." Quinn winked.

"Can I touch it?" Tanner asked, completely mesmerized.

A couple minutes later, they had got to school.

Everyone was used to all the remarks by now. Phoenix was being called a slut for going from one guy to the next, Mimi was being called a whore for... obvious reasons, Kris was being called gay which she was used to, but words still hurt, Eric and Quinn were being called all sorts of things including home wreckers, and "sex machines".

"Okay that doesn't even make sense." Quinn had said the first time that she said been called it.

No one else was getting much heat. Phoenix and Quinn were being called killers, and maniacs most of the time, but they didn't care. They knew what had happened that night, and that's all they needed.

They all had each other, and no matter what anyone said, no one could take that away from them.

Alice and Billy were wasting away. No one could hurt them. Or could they?
