Quinn, Phoenix, and Eric sat on the edges of their seat waiting for the nurse to tell them that he was alright.
"He has to be okay. There's no way he wouldn't be." Phoenix bit her nails.
"He will be." Quinn nodded.
A couple minutes later, the nurse came into the waiting room. Phoenix stood up. "Anything?" Phoenix asked.
"He's up. A few cracked ribs, but he'll be alright. He's up for visitors." the nurse led the three into a hospital room where Daniel was lying on a bed. Phoenix ran to the room with Quinn and Eric close behind.
"Hey guys." Daniel groaned.
"Daniel. It's okay, it's okay. You're okay." Phoenix grabbed his hand.
"Pretty nasty crash." Eric rubbed his head. They all had a few cuts and bruises but Daniel must've been hit just right.
"Yeah." Daniel agreed.
"I think it was my dad." Quinn sat down in a chair.
"I don't think your dad would do this Quinn." Phoenix shook her head.
"He visited Eric and I before you two got in the car. He threatened Eric. Maybe he was aiming for him." Quinn suggested.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Daniel tried to sit up.
"We didn't think that it mattered." Eric answered.
"Listen, if it was my dad, I'm so sorry. I never meant for any of this to happen I hope you know." Quinn told Daniel.
"I know. For once, it's not your fault. We don't even know if it was your dad." Daniel said.
"But it could've been. I just want to know who did this." Quinn sighed.
"We all do." Eric nodded.
Daniel, Phoenix, Quinn, and Eric talked for hours about the possibility of Quinn's father's inner demon, while there were a couple visits in between conversations. Mona, and Elle came by, and so did Mimi and Kris.
While Mimi and Kris were talking to Daniel, Quinn ushered Phoenix to follow her. Eric was fast asleep in the waiting room.
"What is it?" Phoenix asked.
"Eric. He hasn't exactly personally met my father, and we're getting serious. You are the person I normally come to... do you have any suggestions?" Quinn questioned.
"Are you serious? Me? It's a wonder that I found a boyfriend. I have no idea what to do in any situation. Maybe just don't?" Phoenix guessed.
"Um, thanks." Quinn laughed. "Do you care that I'm staying over? I don't want to stay for too long. I don't want it to be weird."
"It's not. Since I'm the only child, it's kinda nice." Phoenix nodded.
"Oh, there's one more pressing matter. Also has to do with Eric. It's kind of really serious." Quinn stopped talking when she saw Eric walking up to them.
"Hey. What's up?" Eric asked as he approached them.
"Oh, nothing. Just talking about Phoenix's mom and her relationship." Quinn elbowed Phoenix.
"Yeah." Phoenix cleared her throat.
"Oh. Nice. Visiting hours here are ending in a couple minutes. Just thought you should know." Eric smiled. He out his hands in his front pockets and walked away.
"Well, then we should say goodbye until tomorrow." Quinn walked away quickly, thankful that she didn't have to spill her secret yet.
Phoenix said her goodbyes to Daniel, and they all got in Eric's car. Daniel had to stay overnight.
Phoenix and Quinn sat in the backseat. Eric scrunched his face when Quinn sat next to Phoenix.
"Where to ladies?" Eric asked.
"My house." Phoenix answered. Eric drive for a couple minutes and everyone was silent.
When he parked in front of the house, Quinn got out without a word. "Hey. You okay?" Eric asked as he rolled the window down.
"Yeah. Yeah of course." Quinn swallowed.
Eric nodded and rolled his window back up. Phoenix and Quinn went inside the house.
Sasha greeted them in a sweatshirt and shorts. "Oh hey girls! I heard Daniel got in a nasty crash today. Is he okay?" Sasha continued to stir something in a big gumbo pot.
"He's fine. Mom, are you making gumbo?" Phoenix looked at the pot.
"No, just salad." Sasha turned to them loopily.
"Why are you stirring salad in a gumbo pot on the stove?" Phoenix asked.
"Oh. I don't know!" Sasha took the pot off the stove. The stove wasn't even on. Phoenix realized that she just be drunk and she went upstairs followed closely by Quinn.
"So what did you want to tell me before?" Phoenix shut the door behind her and kicked off her shoes.
"I don't remember having to tell you something." Quinn scratched her head.
"At the hospital? You said it had something to do with Eric and that it was serious." Phoenix explained.
"Oh, that? That was nothing. I forgot." Quinn took off her white chunky heels, and collapsed on a beanbag chair in Phoenix's room.
"Are you entirely sure about that?" Phoenix asked.
"Okay. Maybe it's just a little serious." Quinn buried her face in her hands.
"Tell me. Come on." Phoenix walked over to her.
Quinn whispered something into her ear. "No. Way." Phoenix gasped.
