The word spread quickly about Phoenix's disappearance which was exactly what Quinn wanted.
Wonderlust was on lockdown. The quiet town with theater programs was on lockdown. No one could come in, and no one could get out.
There was constant security all over town, and there had still been so sightings of Phoenix. Quinn hadn't slept since the night Phoenix disappeared. Her, Sasha, and Eric were checking places all over town where it was possible Daniel and Henry could've taken her.
"The town hall?" Sasha suggested. She looked a mess.
"No. That would just be stupid. People go there every day for meetings. Too public." Quinn crossed it off a map of Wonderlust.
"What about that warehouse?" Eric pointed to an already crossed off warehouse.
"No. It's been searched every day by Wonderlust Police. No sign of anything. Not even drugs." Quinn scribbled it out completely.
"We only have one place that we haven't checked." Quinn tapped the map with her pen on Wonderlust Theater.
"Why would Henry and Daniel take Phoenix there?" Sasha asked impatiently.
"Think about it. It's closed down, so everyone would suspect no one can get it, but Henry owns it. He has the keys, and if someone were to check there he wouldn't be trespassing." Quinn explained.
"She has a point." Eric told Sasha.
"You two go check it tonight. I have a meeting with some police officers. They might have an update." Sasha grabbed a drink and left.
"I feel so bad." Quinn shook her head.
"For Sasha? Why?" Eric asked.
"She's lost everyone. I'm not even helping to find Phoenix. Every place that I've suspected had been empty." Quinn put her head down on the table.
"I should've just let you chase after her." Eric sighed.
"No," Quinn put her hand on Eric's. "You did the right thing by stopping me. I could've gotten killed."
Eric looked away. "Let's come up with a plan to break in." Eric changed the subject.
"Hey. You did nothing wrong. None of this is your fault." Quinn moved Eric's face that way he could look at her. "Okay?"
"Okay." Eric nodded.
"Okay. Good." Quinn smiled. She pulled out a map of Wonderlust Theater. "There are five entrances. Three main entrances and two secret ones. The secret ones might be best."
"Okay. Where are they?" Eric asked.
"Well the main entrance is at the front here." Quinn pointed to a door. "But there's also a back door." Quinn pointed to the other side of the building. "Then there's a fire escape that leads to a side door." Quinn pointed at a fire escape.
"Okay. Those are the three main entrances." Eric pointed at all the places that Quinn had.
"Yes. The two secret entrances. One of them leads underground. It starts here." Quinn pointed at a wall next to the side door.
"That's just a wall." Eric looked closer.
"It blends in. Trust me. It's a door. The second one is a little riskier. It starts here." Quinn pointed at the opposite side of the building. "It goes underground too. It goes into a secret bunker and then you have to go up steps into the building." Quinn pointed at a million things.
"I say the first secret entrance." Eric pointed to the blended in door.
"Me too. It's less risky, but still secret." Quinn nodded. She rolled up the plans and stuffed them in a duffel bag.
"How are we supposed to get there while we're on lockdown?" Eric asked.
"Easy. We go at night. And wear black. It's true what they say. Boys look better in black." Quinn nodded.
"Is that what they say?" Eric raised his eyebrows.
"Also it helps you blend in. But I agree with both." Quinn kissed Eric and then they memorized the plan until they were sick of talking about it. But they still did.
At 10:00 Quinn and Eric got changed into black clothes. The only clothes that Quinn had what were black was a leather skater skirt that was a little worn out, a cropped black turtleneck, and a black leather jacket. She put on some black converse and called it a day.
Eric wore a black shirt with black jeans.
"Here." Quinn handed him a black beanie.
"Why do I have to wear this?" Eric asked
"Your hair looks like a flaming hot Cheeto. It'll give us away." Quinn tried no to laugh.
"Fine." Eric put it on. Quinn let out a laugh, and they went into Eric's car. They drove twice around Wonderlust Theater and then parked in a back parking lot.
"Perfect. Let's go over the plan one more time." Eric unbuckled. Quinn did the same.
"We both go in through the secret door, but when the passage splits, we take opposite sides. See where it leads, meet back in the middle, and decide which way is best. If any of us gets out of the passage and sees Phoenix we still go back that way we can do it together." Quinn didn't seem to approve of the last rule.
"I mean it. If you get out of the tunnel and see Phoenix, do not untie her or grab her. It could be bait." Eric warned her.
"Geez. I get it." Quinn slipped on black gloves and Eric copied her. They slipped out of the car and went to find the secret door.
