"I've always thought it was about finding the right person. But it's about choosing the right person, isn't it?"
-Lisa Kleypas
————————————————————————

Camila Cabello, a 22 year old average girl who loves working at the daycare centre. Maybe it's the children or the better interaction she gets with people than being in her home alone.

Shawn Mendes, a 23 year old man who's life went downhill after choosing the wrong woman. He knew he should've chosen Camila. It's always been her but he was scared. So instead, he chose Kelsey, a women who couldn't care less about anyone but herself.

So selfish that she didn't want the baby. She instead left Shawn to raise his baby, by himself. As CEO of his father's financial company, he barely had anytime for himself, let alone a baby.

The beautiful baby girl wasn't named by Kelsey, then again she couldn't care less. So, Shawn had the beautiful opportunity to name her, Karla. Taking it after Camila. He was so blindly in love with her but it's been 3 years since he's seen her and Shawn is now in a flunk. Taylor, his best friend, wouldn't be able to babysit Karla while Shawn was at work.

Shawn loved his daughter dearly, she looked exactly like him, but he hated that he didn't have time to be with her all the time.

Taylor knew how much he missed Camila and how he'd do anything to find her again and Taylor knew that Karla needed a motherly figure besides her, she was 3 years old and didn't have anyone to call 'mama'. So, she figured out a plan, to get Shawn to reunite with Camila in the best way she could, at the daycare.

Taylor knew that Camila would never hold a grudge. She has a sweet spot for Shawn and babies, so it was a win win.

"Why don't you bring her to a daycare?" Taylor suggested while making funny faces at the curly-haired toddler, "I don't know how well I trust those places," he fumbled with his daughter's dress, readjusting the seems, "Shawn, my friend works there, she's great with children," "fine." He gave in, he was desperate.

He walked into the bright coloured place, it seemed nice and homey. He was quite amused of how nice the place looked. He had Karla in his hands playing with her while waiting for someone to notice him in reception.

He heard laughter, a familiar laugh. That's when he saw her, she was beautiful. Her curly hair flowing down her shoulders, skin glowing, with her pearly white teeth, she looked incredible. She had a child in her hands but soon let her go and occupied her with something to play with.

She didn't notice him yet, "hi, how can I-" her eyes widened at the sight of the handsome Canadian with a beautiful baby with him. Her heart dropped, he had a child. It wasn't hers. It was probably the women's that he chose over her.

She cleared her throat and tried again, "hi, how can I help you?" She smiled, saying hi to the baby in his hands, "Camila," he voiced, his jaw still dropped. "Hi, Shawn," she whispered. "You look beautiful, wow," he was lost in her eyes, "I don't think your wife would like you saying that very much," Camila tried to joke but failed when she saw the sad expression on his face, "I'm a single dad, that's kind of why I'm here," he sighed.

Her heart hurt for him, how dare he have to raise a child all by himself. She knew very well that he was a busy CEO of a successful company. "I'm so sorry," she lightly touched his hand before taking her own back. "What's her name? She can gladly join me," she cheered, softly mouthing small words to the little girl making her laugh, this made Shawn's heart swell. He hesitated before telling her the name. He knew that once he said it, she'd know why he named her after her.

"Karla," he whispered, looking over to his daughter and tickling her slightly. For a 3 year old, she knew many words. Camila's eyes softened and started to tear up before snapping back into reality and having him fill out some forms.

"Okay, Karla, I love you and daddy will see you later, okay?" She nodded, "I wuv you, daddy," she hugged him and Camila watched their interaction, the way Shawn kissed her forehead and tickled her before handing her off to Camila.

She saw how hesitant he was so she reassured him, "she'll be fine, we'll have fun, won't we Karla?" Camila tickled the small girl with a bright personality, "yeah, dada I alweady wike her!" Karla clung onto Camila's leg, "me too," Shawn whispered before walking out, waving a small goodbye to the two beautiful girls.

Camila had such an amazing time with Karla. She was a charming young girl if she said so herself. They shared many laughs, they did arts and crafts, read books together, you could say they were like best friends. Karla adored Camila. Now, they were outside playing in the sand waiting for her father, all the other kids left earlier and Ariana, the other worker offered to wait but Camila insisted on staying with Karla.

"I'm so sorry that I'm late!" Shawn ran to the yard but he was taken back at the sight of the two. They were laughing and Camila was lifting her as if she was flying. He was upset that he hadn't chosen her from the beginning. He loved her, always will.

"Oh, that's okay!" Camila set Karla down, setting her attention on him, "Okay, honey, you ready to go?" He put out his hand for her to take but her expression was sad, "what's wrong, honey?" His voice was soft and angelic, "I don't want to leave Camila," she pouted at her father. Shawn's face softened, she was never like this. She always had trouble getting along with different people but with Camila, she acted as if, well...she was her mother.

Camila reassured her that they'd see each other again, "why don't she come and have dinner with us?" Shawn smirked knowing that Camila wouldn't say no now, "yay! Will you?" She looked up at the Cuban, shaking her hand, "yeah, of course," she nervously mumbled.

Camila sat at the front beside the Canadian and she couldn't help but stare at him. Almost immediately, Karla fell asleep. "Thank you, mila," that nickname made her heart flutter, "you're welcome, she's beautiful and extremely smart," Camila said, almost also complimenting Shawn, "where'd her mom go?" Camila whispered, "I chose the wrong women. She was never the one I loved, it's you. It's always been you," he looked at her for a second before glueing his eyes back on the road.

Dinner was nice, he made them pasta but he didn't bother to wake Karla, knowing that she'd be in a bad mood once awoken. Camila started to clean the dishes for him, "you don't have to do that," he took the dishes from her hand. Her body was on fire, such little touch from him set her on fire. "I-I'm," but she couldn't get anything out so Shawn decided to cut her off, "can I kiss you?" He placed his hands on her cheeks, rubbing circles around them. She hesitated for a second before not wasting anymore time and smashing her lips onto his.

It was getting deeper and deeper but when breathing became a necessity, they pulled apart but kept their foreheads connected, still staring into each other's eyes, "I love you too," is all Camila whispered before Shawn showered her in kisses.
