"Taylor, come here, baby!" Camila called out to her six year old daughter. Being a single mom and working so much as an intern in one of the best hospitals in her state wasn't all that easy.

She was struggling to maintain a relationship with her daughter and making enough money to provide for her. Yes, she was financially stable but she still needed to work to maintain that. Luckily, her best friend Ariana was always there to help.

The divorce of the two was not a nice one, it ended horribly and not the way they wanted it to go. They were always fighting because of her busy work schedule and she didn't have time to spend with him. Although Camila always chose family over work, this wouldn't help them. He was a struggling author and the reality was that she was the only one providing so she had to work.

They divorced and two months later, she discovered her pregnancy. She truly was planning on telling him but she had seen his recent posts on Instagram with a women and she couldn't bring herself to do so.

"Shoot, sorry!" Camila bumped into someone as she was holding onto her daughter's hand to get through the library. Today was Camila's off day so she decided to spend it with her daughter in the library that her daughter loved so very much. "It's okay," the voice was deep and raspy, it sounded familiar - too familiar if you asked Camila.

She looked up and realized who it was, Shawn Mendes. The man who she still desperately loved but it didn't seem to go both ways. "Camila?" Shawn asked, wide eyed. She noticed the way he tensed up when he saw the little girl. Camila was internally panicking, was this really the way he was going to find out about his daughter?

"Hey, Shawn," Camila whispered, looking down at her daughter who was occupied by the stuffed animal in her hand, "I didn't know you had a child," Shawn's voice was shaky and he clearly was uncomfortable. "Yeah, about that-", "who's the lucky guy?" She noticed how he said 'lucky' and something about that made her heart flutter. He saw the confusion in her face so he asked again, "who's the guy that you're with?" He awkwardly chuckled. "No one," Camila looked down at her toes and wiggled them, "oh, I'm sorry. Would you like to catch up, maybe sit down while your daughter plays?"

Camila smiled and asked if it was okay with Taylor which she didn't really mind so they sat in front of the kids area and caught up.

She didn't know if she should tell him the truth or if she should see if it could blend into a normal conversation - who was she kidding? Is that even normal to anyone?

"So the father of your child just left? What a dick, I'm sorry." Camila rolled her eyes, if only he knew. "It's nothing really, it was mutual," she wanted to push that thought aside, "yeah but she deserves a fatherly figure, I don't mean to intrude but I just always imagined - never mind." He shut himself up, looking at the beautiful women that he still loved - confused face. "You're the father." She whispered, shutting her eyes and clenching her fists.

Shawn was taken aback. He felt awful and he wanted to vomit. He always wanted children, especially with Camila but not when they were divorced over something so silly that really shouldn't have caused a divorce. He regretted signing those papers every single day, even when trying to get over her with a girl but they broke up due to the fact that she wasn't Camila. "W-what?" His voice cracked and tears threatened to fall from his eyes. "I found out two months after our divorce and I wanted to tell you but you were with someone else," she muttered, playing with her own fingers.

Shawn took her hands in his and looked at her with the most loving eyes he could, "what's her name?" Shawn looked over at the gorgeous little curly haired girl playing with the blocks, "Taylor Cabello Mendes," Camila smiled at the name and she smiled even wider when he saw his smile. "She's six." Camila added, looking over to her little girl. "She reminds me so much of you, she has the same little lazy eye and the same smile, laugh, eyes." Camila got lost with her words.
