Camila sat in her bedroom as she finished up a drawing for an art class. Though, it took longer than she had anticipated as she kept getting distracted by the curly haired Canadian that lived just next door where his bedroom window stared directly at hers. Camila has had the biggest crush on him for quite some time now but she never thought that she was one to be noticed by him. Sometimes, if she was lucky—as she would turn to shut her curtains, she'd catch him doing the same and he'd flash a charming smile at her before shutting the blinds completely, making it impossible to see him shirtless anymore. They went to high school together and they shared an AP biography class but that was about it. They had two very different friends groups. Hers only including one childhood friend, Ariana and him being friends with all the jocks and all the girls.

His girlfriend was the most well known girl at Toronto High. In everyone's eyes, she was close to perfection. Everyone in school called her the "heather" of Toronto High and I couldn't agree more. Her perfectly plump hair with her natural blonde beach waves and crystal blue eyes with a body that Camila could only dream of having—she was the captain of the cheer team and had every single guy wrapped around her finger, including Shawn. They started dating just two months ago and Camila couldn't bare to watch the way he held her and the way he kissed her—the way he looked at her, a way that Camila wished she could experience. Instead, Camila fell hard for him from afar, never once speaking to him. She knew that she had no chance with him. Especially since he was taken.

Camila knew that this was no longer just your average crush that middle schoolers have. This was something much bigger and scarier. It hurt her heart to see him with someone else and it made her happy to see him smiling. Though Camila would never admit it, she was extremely jealous of Riley, the girl who had completely stolen his heart. Camila can't lie, she understood why all the guys liked her so much. Not only was she effortlessly gorgeous but she was also kind to everyone and made sure that whoever she met, was welcomed. Camila felt extremely guilty for having something against her when she's done nothing wrong. If anything, she'd done everything right. From being kind to everyone to making Shawn happy, she was doing it all right and Camila couldn't deny that.

Camila stared at him through her window, admiring his toned abs and muscled biceps but that was before Riley walked in and Camila's heart completely shattered upon seeing their lips collide. Camila groaned, falling back onto her bed. She barely knew him but from afar, she could tell that he was humble. She memorized things about him, things that she wasn't sure that Riley knew but who was Camila kidding? She obviously knew. She was his girlfriend after all. She obviously noticed the way he ran his hands through his hair multiple times while he had nothing else to do. His regular Starbucks order which was a chocolate chip muffin and a black coffee. The scar on his cheek and the necklace he kissed before walking onto the ice for the hockey game. Did Riley notice any of these things? Definitely.

Camila stood to her feet and looked out her window, only to see Shawn and Riley making out on his bed and Camila's face twisted into a look of disgust before aggressively shutting her curtains and huffing.

"What's gotten you in a mood?" Ariana laughed. Camila didn't notice that she was watching Camila from the doorframe that she leaned on. "They're making out... gross." she mumbled to her best friend—the only person that knew about her forbidden crush. However, Ariana wouldn't call it a crush and at this point, neither would Camila. Ariana knew that Camila was completely head over heels for this guy and she was basically in love with him. It hurt Ariana to see her best friend hurt.

Ariana sighed before plopping herself down on Camila's bed, shoving her pencils and books off of it. "You need to get over him... you know that right?" Ariana hated how that sounded because deep down, she knew that Camila would probably never get over him and Ariana didn't want her to. Secretly, Ariana was rooting for Shawn and Camila to get together. Despite Ariana being Camila's only friend, she was close with the guys that Shawn was friends with which was why Ariana had gotten in touch with Connor who was fond of Camila.
