She loves her husband dearly and as did he for her but it hurt deeply that he was on tour instead of being with her and their two beautiful children that they made together.Joshua Shawn Mendes was the name of their firstborn who at the moment is 13 years old and already has he accomplished so much.
He definitely had Shawn's looks with the mess of curls and his built. Without a doubt, he had Shawn's love for music and his love for sports.
If he wasn't inside practicing new songs on his guitar that the Mendes couple gifted him then he was outside practicing his brilliant soccer skills in the backyard.
Camila leaned against the sliding door that lead to their backyard, filming her son practice his shots into the net. He's been practicing for hours and just before that, he was learning new chords on FaceTime with Shawn as Shawn was backstage at one of his concerts.
"You hungry yet, buddy?" Camila softly interrupted. Her son came to a halt, smiling softly at his mother. Sweaty and all, he ran up to his mother and hugged her, tightly. It felt all too much like Shawn. Camila loved her children so much and she'd do anything for them, gladly they were Shawn's. He pulled away, "sorry, mama. I have practicing to do...tryouts are next week."
Camila understood. He was fully committed and devoted to the sport that Grandpa Alejandro, Camila's father, got him hooked on. It was his dream to make the travel team and only practice made perfect, no matter how gifted he was with both his fingers for strumming guitars and his legs to kick soccer balls into nets. She sighed but nodded and made her way to the dining table where her beautiful 5 year old daughter sat.
Jordyn Karla Mendes was most definitely a mini Camila as Shawn would say and Camila couldn't disagree. She was sassy, smart and her face practically screamed Camila, aside from the eyes, those were Shawn's.
"I guess it's just you and me for dinner again." Camila sighed, squeezing her cheeks, kissing both of her rosy cheeks that caused her daughter to laugh. That was also Shawn's laugh.
She missed the days where Shawn would come home from the studio just before dinner in time and her son would've already been in from practicing because he didn't want to miss a glimpse of his father because he knew that his father would be travelling the world soon.
She also missed when her daughter didn't have to ask when her father would come home to help her mother tuck her into bed because usually, he'd already be by her side singing her a lullaby that helped her rest faster.
She missed when instead of being met with cold sheets in the morning, she was met with soft kisses being peppered on her face or her body - warm, pressed up against his whilst she fell into a slumber.
Although, she wouldn't trade what he's doing for the world. Their love was so strong and they knew that they would be able to do long distance no matter how hard it was for them to have their family apart. They've waited too long for each other to just let go of all they had.
Shawn and Camila started as enemies during their years of high school but it wasn't until towards the end where they finally sparked up a friendship and during their years of college, they kept in touch but during that first year, they started dating and since then, they've been deeply in love.
She set the bowl of salad and the platter of lasagna for the supposedly, dinner for two, "okay, baby...you ready to eat?" I brushed her hair with my hands, sitting right next to her and started serving her. "It smells yummy, mama." Her daughter complimented.
